The 10 year war completely shits on any aspect of the Iron Bowl. The fact that Bo came from Ohio State, Michigan gets a good amount of their talent from Ohio, etc. I could keep going on. I don't really know how anyone outside of the south could argue against The Game.

All time it is Mich/OSU. Last 10 years it is the Iron Bowl hands down. I'm so thankful I don't have to live in that state and experience it everyday. Both sides are fricking retarded with their obsession. They'd rather see the other team fail than their own team succeed.

Last time I was in AL during football season, I saw a grown man get into an argument with a high school aged cashier over this.
You have a dude that was about to go to federal prison over this.
I wouldn't call that "simmering".
ETA, but I have no problem with the ranking.

When was the last time an Ohio State fan poisoned a tree in Michigan in retaliation for rival fans putting a Wolverine jersey on a Woody Hayes statue?
And that fan lived in Illinois?

What's so great about the last 10 years?

2007 - #7 vs. #23
2008 - #10 vs. unranked
2009 - #8 vs. unranked
2010 - #8 vs. unranked

Alabama-Auburn series: Alabama leads, 41-34-1
Ohio State-Michigan series: Michigan leads, 58-43-6
The Iron Bowl is a much more competitive rivalry.
When I went to the 2005 Alabama-Arkansas game, there was a 50+ year old Alabama fan and an Auburn fan who looked to be around my age at the time (17). The kid was decked out in Auburn gear from head to toe. The older Alabama fan confronted him and basically yelled into his face for even wearing that gear to a game where Auburn wasn't even playing. The kid got in a few words before walking away from the guy, turning after about twenty feet, giving the older Alabama fan the double bird and shouting, "frick you, old man!"

Frankly...and the endgame truth is simply this:
Michigan has a far better opponent in Ohio State and vice-versa...to Top 10 (sometimes ranked top 5) programs of all time.
Bama needs a better opponent to make this even an argument.

Rankings do not matter. I personally believe the Army-Navy game is the GREATEST rivalry game in the history and present of college football. Both teams are mediocre to absolute shite every year.

See, this is where knowing the history comes in. Michigan won the first 13 games of the series and at one point led the series 19-3-2. You know, the leather helmet days. The series has been competitive to the point that it's a dead heat since around 1917.

Yeah right.
Then why make the absurd argument that Bama - Auburn is a far far better rivalry the last 10 years.
Who gives a shite if Bama is beating up an unranked team?
The absolute FACT of the matter - they've had very few big games that impacted the national landscape outside of their little insular southern bubble fan base - compared to Ohio State/Michigan.
The next time Bama is ranked #1 and Auburn is ranked #2 in the final game of the season...you can post again in this thread.

And how does that make the hatred between Ohio State and Michigan greater than the hatred between Alabama and Auburn?
I really would appreciate if you could explain that to me.
Rankings and records don't mean shite in terms of calculating the hatred and intensity built into a rivalry.

There are so many more personal rivalries than Michigan-Ohio State. Let's be honest, outside of those two states, no one gives a shite about them because outside of Ohio State getting bukkaked back to back years neither have done a damn thing on the national level.
Rivalries more personal/intense than those kitten fights in the Big Ten: Iron Bowl, Egg Bowl, TWLOCP, Georgia-GT, USC-Clemson, RRR, Texas-TAMU, Bedlam, Auburn-LSU, and Alabama-Tennessee.
