Aldon Smith was also sticking her and supposedly rammed Kaep's car when he got with her. She's millennial Toni Braxton.

The flag means different things to different to people. In America it's your right to not stand for the national anthem.

people died for the freedom our flag and anthem stand for if you dont respect our country as colin says then GTFO. Id love to see dipshite colin go live in syria and make $10m/year or whatever he makes to play kick the rocks with the other islamists. This country is a place people die to come to and its an honor to be born an american or become an american, if you dont respect what we stand for then I say get your shite and go to wherever you think is better but dont stand here especially as a public figure and talk about how much you hate this place bc there is nowhere on this planet that compares remotely to this place in terms of how good we have it. Poor people in this country have cell phones, free food, and healthcare lol go to where my family is originally from and poor people are poor, they live with family till they die, they dont have cell phones, and no there is no free food stamps lol. Poor in the united states is a dream to the poor in most of the rest of the world, colin is a pos and there's nothing else to say.

Cannot wait until football officially begins. Seriously tired of these social issue conversations. Every single time they just go in circles. Let's get back to some sports talk, leave that other nonsense for the Poli Boarders

I love America, but I'm not going to lie. I would sit down for the national anthem in exchange for certain carnal concessions from her.

Oppresses colored folks? Is that why he gets paid millions to play a sport? He must really be repressed. Talk about a guy with no room to talk, at all.

I would give a homeless black man 20x the respect of kaepernick if he said the same thing, or any black man currently in prison for minor offenses.

Kaepernick just needs to shut his damn mouth. He plays football, and he's not paid to play politics with things he doesn't understand.

I think its up to his employer what happens. He'll get fined IMO. He doesn't have a good enough reason to not stand for it.

He could have easily stood for the national anthem and gave a positive spin on it while still promoting his "message". Such as, "this represents what those before us were TRULY sacrificing for, and we're trying to get to that point, but theres work to do."

Nope, he did that which takes attention AGAIN away from the real issue, and points at himself. Why oh why?

Kaepernick is a 28-year-old biracial man who was raised by the white parents who adopted him, and who believes he can no longer remain silent in a country where young, black men are too often shot by overheated cops, and where blacks are forever asked by whites to rise above obstacles that whites themselves created.

African-American athletes are often asked (unfairly, perhaps) to speak out on social issues and, well, Kaepernick just did. If you don't like what the man did or said, that's your prerogative. But telling him that what he said and did was un-American is to lose sight of what it means to be an American.

The problem isn't standing or sitting during the national anthem. The issue is him describing America as a country that oppresses people. That's so goddamn ridiculous I can't believe anyone not on meth or suffering from a severe mental disorder would think it, let alone say it.

Considering the fact he's given a platform to make that kind of statement and not be imprisoned or gagged by a government entity, he basically contradicts himself within said statement. America is lenient to idiots.

Exactly.

He can say whatever he likes. He can stand or not stand. But if he doesn't understand how lucky (privileged) and free he is then he's just wildly out of touch with reality.

Freedom of speech doesn't mean freedom from criticism after you speak.

They are asked by some - mostly people who expect them to consider themselves a member of their race first, and whatever else they are (gender, religion, philosophy, politics, nation of origin) second.

There are some ungrateful counts in our history as well. So yes, it is American for wealthy people of privilege to fail to understand how lucky they are. Not all American traits are to be emulated.

So rich people should have no concern for less fortunate/poor/oppressed people because they're lucky? Because he's not saying he's the oppressed person.

You could argue whether you think people of color are oppressed or whether his actions will help solve that any but saying he's rich so can't speak up for poor/oppressed people is just wrong. Isn't a NYC billionaire running for president as the voice of the common American?

If he means to say he feels lucky but understands others are not, then that's great. In fact I think that understanding is the first step for him doing something actually meaningful to change the upward possibilities of people who are truly are in need of better education and jobs.

But I don't read any of what he's said as any of that. His rhetoric appears to be empty social signalling. He is not offering to significantly invest his own fortune or time to help the truly disadvantaged. He's not even talking about the types of violence and want that are must urgent in his targeted minority population.

As a whole his comments appear to completely lack the ethics you wish to give them.
