Yea the big issue here is those slaves were being bought and sold, so the previous owner pocketed the money and the slave had no freedom. but players are pocketing the small or large fortunes in this case, and they can choose to quit or mostly do as they please otherwise
Also I fail to see where players are forced to live in shacks and work all day and abused by slave drivers and not allowed to marry or have kids

If you think about it, he went from on top of the world, to bench warmer, and had to come up with a way to stay relevant and stay paid. His contract was very incentive-laden.
People try to play angles every day and all day. He’s no different. You should be mad at the media and corporations that gave him that undeserved platform. They are lazy, short-sighted and stupid. He’s just hustling, and probably just as surprised as anyone that he’s still going.
