Yeah he’s fricking 48 at the time.

But let’s not pretend MMA isn’t generally getting a second tier of athletes from America.

Name 1 sport the US really cares about and doesn’t dominate.

Not really. There have been a number of athletes who have tried their hands at MMA. The only one who has had some success is Greg Hardy, and he's still a journeyman fighter at this point in his MMA career.

When Kaepernick first kneeled, it wasn't the popular thing to do - he was the only one doing it. He went against the grain to support his beliefs and got a lot of vitriol. But the same people who will say "Good for Colby for having the balls to stand up for his beliefs despite the backlash" curiously don't hold that view for what Kaep did.

Kaepernick is anti-American.

Covington is pro-American.

There's your summary.

you are crazy. greg hardy has been training mma for about 4-5 years now and is still fighting lower caliber guys

Great example. I didn’t know Hardy is competing in MMA. I know he can’t play football anymore but was active just a few years ago. What’s his record?

LeBron outweights this guy by 80 pounds and would have a full foot of reach on him. There is a reason they have weigh classes.

I dont Think Lebron knows how to fight but teach him to sprawl and throw knees and he could be pretty fricking good.

He is not the best athletes on the planet.
Colby Covington is not.

There’s a whole lot more to the fight game than sprawling and throwing knees

If your fighting a real opponent sure.

Not when you’re fighting a wrestler who is 10 inches shorter and 80 pounds lighter.

Wait - are you saying Colby isn’t a ‘real’ fighter?

You don’t think Colby would have an answer for a guy who’s been training for just a short period of time? I think you’re overestimating LBJ’s ability

And to the point about athletes getting professional fights - I think a lot of that has to do with their ability to sell tickets. Fans are curious if these great athletes has what it takes to last a few rounds with real professional fighters, and for the most part, they don’t

I’m saying a 250-280 pound fighter vs a 170 pound fighter isn’t a real fight.

It’s a circus act.

If they stepped in the ring right now I would bet on Colby because I dont Think Lebron has the technical skills to fight.

But teach him how to fight and he’s 1000000x more athletic. He’s taller, stonger, faster, heavier. He would have a foot of reach on him.

If Colby can’t take him down I dont See him winning a striking contest if Lebron is just throwing wild punches like world star video.

I really Miss the old Pride vs UFC arguement.

Pride fans would bitch about elbows stopping fights while Pride fighters could tee up an opponents head like a kickoff on the ground.

Trump makes UFC 249 appearance

It doesn’t bother me. I don’t care about politics mixing with sports. But the right clinging to this notion that “they’re tired of politics being mixed with their sports” and then acting like the UFC avoids this - needs to just admit that they don’t want to hear politics unless they agree with the political view that is being expressed.

Do you even watch the UFC?

I’ve watched the last 20 or so events, and not one time during the broadcast do they mention the bullshite.. did they mention the president? Of course. They SHOULD.

Doing what MLB, the NBA, and the NFL is doing is completely different. Don’t try to tell me that it’s not
