If the elite professional athletes trained MMA for just a limited amount of time, they would compete. How old was Hershel Walker when he decided to play around with MMA?

You left off an important snippet of context with that quote. That was Lebron James responding to his critics.

It wasnt specifically in reference to Colby Covington. Lebron knows that he can’t beat up a professional fighter.

You’d think a bunch of MAGA bro’s would care more about media dishonestly applying quotes out of context - but I guess if it fits the narrative you’re going for it’s fair game

Yeah I'll take the reasonable route and assume that Lebron's response when asked about his critics is applied generally and to the average fan/critic and doesn't mean that he thinks he can beat up every single person in the world or that every single person in the world would be scared to fight him.

You do you, though.

Just looked it up. From that quote itself, that sounds more like what I was saying, any ordinary person who steps to compete with a professional doesn't stand a chance.

Actual context itself, dude wasn't even directly referencing Colby. He was answering questions about AD and the amount of criticism he has been given.

In any case, I don't have a clue how your takeaway from that small quote is that LeBron believes he can beat a professional MMA fighter's arse.

get out of here bro. what walker did was admirable but he fought a couple of tomato cans. He would have been destroyed by any top level MMA fighter.

Pandering to a specific audience is “balls” now?

Dude is talking crap about an athlete who doesn’t care about him. It’s more pathetic than ballsy.

I just looked it up. He was 48.

I don’t think it would take very long to reach Aaron Donald how to fight. That’s what athletes do when they can’t compete in other mainstream sports - they go fight. If they could do anything else, they wouldn’t be fighting for a living.

Verbalizing your opinion when it doesn't fall in line with "woke" culture is balls.

Maybe he's not pandering. Maybe that's his opinion.

As if Lebron gives a flying frick what Colby Covington thinks.

CC is a good marketer for himself though. He's definitely found a niche.

you are crazy. greg hardy has been training mma for about 4-5 years now and is still fighting lower caliber guys... most professional fighters have been in some form of martial art or wrestling program since they were a child. the guy we are talking about here colby covington has been wrestling since high school, not to mention his dad was a wrestler so I am sure that he has been training even longer. nobody is just walking into mma and beating up top level fighters that have been training for 20+ years. no different than a mma fighter trying to beat lebron at basketball... aint happening.

Are you sure? That would be a lot of people, and Colby is known in MMA and not much else. Shut up and dribble girl, he is not.

it's hilarious that this is the reaction when it is a MAGA guy.

When Kaepernick first kneeled, it wasn't the popular thing to do - he was the only one doing it. He went against the grain to support his beliefs and got a lot of vitriol. But the same people who will say "Good for Colby for having the balls to stand up for his beliefs despite the backlash" curiously don't hold that view for what Kaep did.
