Coach Prime says NCAA should force recruits who commit to have to stay at that school

OK, let’s see if we’ve got this straight. Deion Sanders, the Colorado football coach who built this year’s team with a herd of transfers from other schools, is complaining about players not living up to their commitments, about players who changed their minds and no longer want to join his team.
After a prize recruit “de-committed” from Colorado recently and elected to “reopen” his recruiting to other schools, Sanders ripped the system. He called for the NCAA to prevent players from breaking their commitments.
“A kid ain’t even faithful to his girlfriend. You think (he’s) gonna be faithful to a school? Come on, man. That’s an emotional thing,” Sanders told The Athletic.
Continuing, he said, “What I wish the NCAA would do, if you’re committed somewhere, you can’t go on any other visits. If you’re committed, that means you’re committed. You can’t go on no other visits. Why would you be committed but you’re still letting kids go on other visits? That means you just playing.”
Wait a minute, isn’t he the guy who …
Yes. The same

He’s even dumber than I initially thought.
So a coach bails - like he did - and student athletes are supposed to stick around?

It is hilarious that he, of all people, is saying this, but also, let’s be real here… the practice of a player “announcing his commitment “ to a school is so self-serving and meaningless.

That’s not what he said.
He said kids are committed shouldn’t be visiting other schools.
Don’t commit if you want to keep visiting other places.

Then why does he let committed kids from other schools visit Colorado? Weird.

Its a long practice that kids committing to popular schools, opens things up for them...other often uninterested schools hop in...often a bump in their rating, etc....they have long played the recruiting game. Colorado was a flavor of the month, committing got them some notoriety, maybe bargaining power...look at me hype.

Does the same rule apply to him and his commitment to the university? So he shouldn’t be taking visits for job openings then

The same should be said for coaches.

Yep, and if that’s how he feels he has to communicate that to the recruit. Let them know if they commit they can’t visit other schools. It won’t go over well for some but if that’s his policy either stand by it or change it.

I used to try to defend the guy but he's jumped the shark

I agree
Young men and women commit to the Military and stick with that commitment and….
Do not commit on ESPN

The more he talks the dumber you realize he is.

Or as a coach don't consider a player committed until he signs.
Fickell has said he doesn't consider players committed if they are taking other visits no matter what the recruit says.
