@Vikings
We are absolutely devastated to announce legendary Minnesota Vikings head coach and Hall of Famer Bud Grant has passed away this morning at age 95. We, like all Vikings and NFL fans, are shocked and saddened by this terrible news.

One of the best to do it. RIP.

RIP Coach.

One of my fondest memories of NFL football was watching his teams.

Hyperbole much?

It’s sad that a great coach has passed, but come on.

Bud played football, basketball and baseball at Minny, earning nine letters from 1946-49

Bud Grant made his Vikings line up and stand at attention during the national anthem. Fans loved it.

Lots don’t know he won 2 titles with the Lakers. Yes, the Minneapolis Lakers. Thats how current LA Lakers got their name when they moved and kept Laker name created in Minny.

Air temperature was -6, wind chill was damn near -30, and that old man was out there in short sleeves. The most Minnesota thing ever. RIP coach.

Bud Grant pregame vs Seahawks

A few years ago when the Vikings were having to use the University of Minnesota’s stadium while their new one was being built they played that playoff game against the Seahawks. It was extremely cold. Bud Grant was doing the honorary coin toss and he walked out there with a short sleeve shirt on.

Rip.

He had some awesome interviews with Lebatard. They would call him around the time of his annual garage sale. Cool dude.

Great coach.

His teams played outside where football is meant to be played.

Went to 4 Superbowls. And had one of the best defenses with Alan Page, Carl Eller, and Jim Marshall. Yep, The Purple People Eaters.

I grew up in Minnesota and was a 8th grader when the Vikings were doing their thing. Bud was a true man’s man. Tough old school guy. R.I.P.

A great man. The 70’s NFL was awesome. Playoff games in real football weather. Grant would not allow heaters on the Vikings sideline. He told his teams that germs causes colds not cold weather.

He also thought coaches staying up all night studying film was bullshite. He left the office at 5PM so he could have dinner and spend time with his family.

RIP to a one of a kind legend. An NFL and CFL Hall of Famer.
