Stroud is outside the top 20 in most stats. You’d have to cherry pick to even suggest he’s average at anything this year.

The media is so thirsty for the next good black quarterback that they anoint them way too soon.

Perhaps you haven't noticed his OL and receiving corp this year.

quote:Not true at all for me. I’m just as optimistic about Stroud, and now they know the OL needs a complete overhaul, which has been obvious all season.
Looking forward to it.
I know you’re a Houston fan, and I know deep down you’re not nearly as optimistic today as you were a year ago about both the team and Stroud.
This is literally the first year the Texans have tried to compete. This season hasn’t changed anything for me.

quote:Here’s a stat for you. Stroud has been sacked 35 times this season. That’s the second most in the league. For comparison, Mahomes has been sacked 22 times. Josh Allen has been sacked 13 times.
Mahomes is ahead of Stroud in every meaningful stat, and most of them by a decent bit.
You’re right though, Mahomes has been mediocre this year and Stroud is still way behind him.
Stroud’s OL is horrific. If Mahomes was playing behind an OL that allowed him to get sacked 35 times, his stats would be lower than they are.

Slackster bringing the heat…..

I watch a lot of Houston games, but not as much as you obviously. Stroud just hasn’t been good at all, OL not withstanding.

He’s definitely struggled this year. The truth for him likely lies somewhere in between his great season last year and how he’s looked this year. And he just turned 23.

I don’t know if he’s also having a bit of a sophomore slump. It’s impossible to say. But one thing that is a certainty is that the OL is a huge, gigantic reason for his struggles this year compared to last.

Picked in the 4th round of my league. He is now available on waivers.

Slowik is gonna go after the season I think. He hasn’t adapted the offense at all to Mixon/Collins/Diggs missing time
The running game is unimaginative, and completely relies on Mixon’s short area quickness to not completely suck
Stroud is getting his arse beat in every game and it shows with his errant passing this year

He is having a sophomore slump but his team isn't doing much to help him, the o line has been especially terrible
This. He definitely has taken a step back but he has gotten on his arse quite bit. Terrible OL

He definitely looks like a WNBA player. Dude needs a new haircut so heckin badly

His offensive line collectively has the IQ of a goldfish. Nico Collins has had massive touchdown catches in back to back weeks called back because some jackass going too far down field and illegal shift today. He gets almost no time in the pocket.
(Very salty as a Nico fantasy owner and someone who bet way too much on the Texans ML today).

Why are you skirting the issue of him looking like a WNBA bruiser?

Doesn’t he shoot basketball on the sideline to warm up? Hr may be living a double life. :lol;

Isn’t that a o-line coaching problem????

I'd argue year 2 is premature to judge his career

QB play in the NFL is pretty shite.
Brady said it best. The position has been dumbed down.
