Much like most other positions in the NFL, it only takes one idiot for someone to get over drafted.

Chicago looked to have their eyes hard on Trubisky for some inexplicable reason considering Watson was still out there. Not going to claim I saw Mahomes coming but I saw Watson being good and questioned Trubisky.

Well, yeah. That's kind of the point of mock drafts.

saw posted elsewhere this was Simms' rankings the last 3 years:

2018
1. Lamar Jackson
2. Josh Allen
3. Baker Mayfield
4. Sam Darnold
5. Josh Rosen

2019:
1. Kyler Murray
2. Drew Lock
3. Dwayne Haskins
4. Ryan Finley
5. Jarrett Stidham
6. Daniel Jones
7. Clayton Thorson
8. Will Grier

2020
1. Joe Burrow
2. Justin Herbert
3. Jordan Love
4. Tua

so maybe he has an idea what he's talking about after all

Yeah I mean, looks like he has really been pretty spot on. The Love over Tua looks stupid, but who knows, maybe Love will someday be better than Tua.

way too early to tell considering Love hasn't taken a snap and is in a pretty good situation when he is able to take over

Too early to really tell on 2020 but so far his only miss in 3 years is putting Drew Lock at 2 instead of Danny Dimes.

Honestly what is Trevor Lawrence that Zach Wilson isn’t? A bit taller and bigger?

What's your problem with the list? Other than Mond it looks fine. Nice to see someone ranking Fields outside of the top 3.

That's the problem

Mond likely won't be on an NFL roster in 3 years. He's objectively terrible

Jackson over Allen looks like a miss too but those lists are pretty accurate.

I'm not much of a Chris Simms fan but this was pretty damn tough Dude played with a ruptured spleen.
quote:

Simms suffered a season-ending injury in Game 3 of the 2006 schedule. On Sunday, September 24, he was taken off the field after taking hard hits from the Carolina Panthers defense. Simms returned to the game and even led a successful scoring drive, but remained in physical distress and was taken to a nearby hospital after the game. Tests revealed a ruptured spleen, and Simms immediately underwent emergency surgery. In the aftermath, Simms said he lost five pints of blood before the operation and conceded that another 45 minutes without treatment could have been fatal. The injury is believed by some to have been caused by an illegal hit from Al Wallace, who was later fined by the NFL. However, Simms was complaining of pain and shortness of breath, symptoms of a spleen issue, prior to the hit. Playing on a one-year, $2.1 million contract signed before the season, Simms was eligible for free agency for 2007.

He isn't "terrible." His problem was always consistency at A&M, but when he played well, he looked like an NFL player.

Dude has a hell of an arm, and can make incredible throws in tight windows. But he also can make bone-headed throws.

If he lands in the right system with the right people, it won't shock me if he ends up being a starter at some point.

Based on what I saw last year, I would absolutely take Allen over Jackson going forward.
