best way to put it. There is a small tendency for the bats to be streaky on any given night, but if they can stay average, the will still be playing in November.

So they're like an streak shooting nba team but a good one.
Like the Spurs that year?

I was wondering because I thought they had to play a do or die game and that just sounded like Cinderella story squeaking in

Best 3 teams in baseball were all in the same division. That's just how it goes.

Closest to the Cubs in the Wilcard race was the Giants...13 games back.

I remember just a month and a half ago when they were battling with the Giants for that spot. Something just clicked for the Good Guys and they went ham if the second half of the season. Arrieta has a lot to do with that I think. Just the aura that his performances has brought to the team. What he has done the last three months has quite literally been historic.

100-1 shot, who would have thought it?

No clue where you're getting your numbers from, but this isn't even remotely close to accurate.

I'm over in South Bend and will watch the game at one of the local bars. I expect it to be buzzing. Lots of Cubs fans out here.

Thankfully we are in a good enough position that we will be able to go to one, possibly two NLCS games at Wrigley, assuming they drop the cardinals.

I can't do it. I have to be home. I just simply can't watch these kinds of games at a bar or at Wrigley.

I need my chair, my cup of coffee, and my living room to pace around like a lunatic

Arrieta too low IMO

We all saw his home run power against Pit

Especially when you consider that no one in the 2-7 holes is over the age of 26.

Well then continue about your day. It's not trolling. I didn't want to do all of this. If I was trolling then I'd start agitating or trying to agitate. I want the Cubs to win...would be historic and I watched the Bartman game in Chicago, out of boot camp...the last time I watched an entire baseball game. If the Cubs get to the pennant series, I'll watch every game

Fair enough.

I understand that. I'm doing a good job of just enjoying it right now though. I'm not lucky enough to be able to say I'm a life long Cubs fan. I only came to love them about 10 years ago when I moved up here and met my wife, who introduced me to them. Since then, I've bled it with her and the in-laws. I'm just glad to be able to be a part of it.

We watched the wildcard game with her grandfather, who has been a diehard Cubs fan since the mid 1920's (literally. He is 98), and we looked over in about the 6th inning and he had tears down his face. It was that big to him. We had to walk away for a few minutes, room got really fricking dusty really fricking quick.

At this point the Cubs can't "blow" anything... We have done enough this season. That being said, I will be irate if we lose to the Cards, but for me after the dust settles this year will be a success in my mind.
