Iginla had 4 G, 8 A in the playoffs. You're gonna blame him? OK.
You don't watch them so I won't rip you apart for not noticing the fact that Iginla had ZERO chemistry since Day 1 in Pitt on the Neal/Malkin line, swapped sides with Neal, didn't work, and was then put on the 3rd line the last 2 games. Morrow 4th line.

Lord no, will be locked up in Pitt.
For some reason Detroit sports radio today was debating who we would include in a possible trade for Malkin.
Wouldn't mind it

The Pens' issue isn't offense. It's a defense that is Charmin soft and leaks like a sieve. They kept adding more weapons on offense while not shoring up the team weakness, which reeked of hubris.

they were built for regular season hockey, baloo called it they were basically like the caps that one season just a little bit better and get shut down vs a good defensive team with a good goalie.

The dramatic shift in Hoggy's posts after getting swept in the conference finals is hilarious. I've never seen such a cocky arse poster on this site for his team.

Did you see him vs NYI and this series? The worst defense in either series.
He's a fantastic best of the best offensive defenseman but I'm not signing up for 6+ million and not signing Malkin, and the Pens won't.
Letang isn't worth the money he'll ask for when he's such an up and down defensive player.
Not that defense or goaltending is to blame the last few games, played fantastic D and Vokoun was fantastic.

For fun, check out the Pens' CapGeek page. The Pens have $7 million in cap space and all of their late additions are UFA's, along with Dupuis, Cooke, and Kennedy (RFA). But the looming date is next offseason when the following players will be UFA's: Malkin, Kunitz, Jokinen, Glass, Vitale, MacIntyre, Orpik, Letang, Niskannen, AND Engelland. That's TEN impending unrestricted free agents next year, and two RFA's.
The Penguins will be a fascinating team next season as pretty much the entire team will be playing for a new contract, And a lot of those guys are going to want their big pay day.
ETA: Vokoun will also be a UFA in a year, so that's 11. Fleury is signed through 2015 at $5 million/season. Enjoy.

I'm not even paying any attention to some shitty Columbus fan that can't even sniff the playoffs.
Maybe try next season if you make the playoffs, big if.

a good defensive team with a good goalie.
but when you look at Games 3 and 4, those games obviously could go either way, w/ both teams essentially even. rask was awesome, but keep in mind that there's a fine line between him losing Game 3 in OT on either one of the shots that hit the post, and Game 4 being in OT right now if a flailing Charra's had isn't hit by Malkin's shot.
Series is over w/ the better team advancing, but pretty easily could potentially be 2-2 now.

The best part about that, is they all need to walk minus Dupuis and Malkin, who will sign long term deals soon. Orpik we'll see.
Jokinen? Healthy scratch 3 of the 4 games vs Bruins and 2 of the 5 vs Sens, that trade was useless as well. Glass? Vitale? Engelland? Vitale is the only one worth keeping, and 4th liners are cheap so no worries. Letang can walk, not worth it. Kunitz may or may not stay, we'll see, I like Chris, but you can put about anyone with Crosby with decent talent like him and produce the same stats.
Everyone knows what Kunitz does and doesn't do with and without Crosby.
Not to even mention guys like Despres, Maata, and Pouliot just waiting in the wings.
Franchise reminds me a lot of the Cardinals, ran very very well for current and future success.

Rumors floating around Malkin could be shopped this summer.
