I miss back when the wild card couldn't face a team from their division in the DS.

Yep.

Cubs/Cards NLCS would be pretty fricking cool.

Joe has some pretty interesting decisions coming his way when he has to cut the roster down to 25. Just position players is going to be crazy.

15 position players:

C
Montero
Ross

Inf
Rizzo
Bryant
Russell
Castro
Baez?
La Stella?
Herrara?

OF
Schwarber
Fowler
Soler
Coghlan
Denorfia
Jackson?
Sczur?

P
Lester
Arrietta
Hammel
Haren
Hendricks

Pen
Rondon
Strop
Ramierz?
Hunter?
Rodney
Wood
Grimm?
Rosscup?
Richard?

If you take more pitchers who doesn't make it on the position players? Herrera has been with the team all year. La Stella is hot. You need LHP out of the pen. IDK what he is going to do.

I have a question...how much would anyone be willing to pay for two seats in the bleachers for Sunday's game? I'm guessing $63/seat is definitely worth it considering the circumstances right?

Oh hell yes!

Seeing as Blackhawk SRO tickets for game 6 were around $1000 I'd say that would be the closest I could come to seeing a Cubs playoff style game at Wrigley

The Dodgers. And possibly the Pirates if we're talking 1-4.

But comparing rotations is kind of pointless. Pitchers don't face each other, they face the other team's lineup. If we face the Cardinals in the LDS, we'll have to pitch very well every night. We can't afford a Hammel or Haren dud.

i mean Hendricks and Hammel both have FIP under 4.00, at 3.66 & 3.73 respectively. League average is 3.91, so both are better than league average.

I dont exactly want to give Haren the ball, as he gives up HR's left and right.

LAD doesn't exactly have a 3rd better option, and their bullpen may be worse than ours.

Pirates have Cole and then Liriano who can implode at any time, and doesnt really go deep into games.

i think that goes without saying. Anyone we face is going to be formidable, its the playoffs

C (2)

Montero
Ross

INF (6)

Rizzo
Bryant
Russell
Castro
Baez
LaStella

OF (5)

Fowler
Soler
Schwarbs
Coghlan
AJax

SP (4)

Arrieta
Lester
Hammel
Hendricks

RP (8)

Rondon
Strop
Rodney
Grimm
Cahill
Ramirez

Wood
Richard

Omissions

Haren- has been bad pitching away from the big park in Miami, i think he is too much of a liability

Herrera/Denorfia- tough leaving these guys off, since Herrera can play anywhere and Deno is a solid OF. But with Bryant's ability to play OF & the addition of AJax & Baez, they are expendable.

Rosscup- both Wood and Richard have been better or just as good vs LHB. Both can pitch long relief or even spot start. Wood might be valuable as a pinch runner as well.

Quetin Berry- with the success KC had last year with the pinch runner, i considered putting him on in lieu of La Stella. But La Stella's ability to play multiple INF position won out.

Tommy Hunter- has just been way too hittable. With Ramirez back and Rodney (Crossing fingers) pitching well, we have enough "bat missers" in the pen at this point.

Where would you recommend hanging out in Wrigleyville before the game? First time in Chicago but looking to avoid the douche element if possible.

I wish I could tell you, man. This will only be my second game at Wrigley. I think there are bars in every direction right around Wrigley, but it could be worth your while to Yelp your location for bars/bar food that may be a mile or so walk away from Wrigley to escape the douche element. That's what I'm doing.

I'm not saying I know what I'm doing, just that is my plan this time around. The game is at noon on Saturday, so before my girl and I will be eating breakfast somewhere then after we have an OT-poor Groupon to a brewery...I'm not sure what it's called. Maybe Revolution?

Last year in September was my first game and we played and beat the Brewers. Before that game we ate at Rocket Burger, I think. It's right there by Wrigley. They had decent food and we sat outside and just took it all in.

Did anybody see THIS last night? I totally missed it, but I honestly can't tell if the umpires got the call right. It's really hard for me to say Ginnett is out.

Whatever the case, what a great play by Kris Bryant.
