That lineup is going to go in deep on Folty.

Definitely...and this pitching staff needs a stopper.

Kyle Schwarber, tho.

This has a chance to get real ugly with Arrieta going for them as well.

After subjecting myself to both of the Detroit games I know I sure could use some Arrieta-vs-Braves sorbet to cleanse my palate of the bitter taste.

In other news, I read that season ticket holders got letters today about playoff tickets. Cue up a million "It's Happening" gifs!!!

Fine work. Glad to be done with Detroit. 25 runs in two games was not fun to watch. Gonna kick back and watch Arrieta do his thing tonight.

Mates on on the homecoming kid and the underdog Braves tonight at +265 - great odds.

I hope the Cubbies are as impotent at the plate tonight as we know they're capable of being - but wish you all a great game

Wait wait wait. You bet AGAINST jake arrieta at home when the Cubs had scored 16 runs in the last two games???? sounds like you're the impotent one.

@Cubs: .@JArrieta34 has 12 straight quality starts, the most for a #Cubs starter since Greg Maddux's 14 straight in 1992.

I don't think it's going to be as easy as picking a guy. If it goes down to the wire and games 160-162 are meaningful then it might be who is most rested. Hopefully we can pull away and set the rotation us so that Joe gets who he wants rested for the play in game.

If Arreita can't go because of the rotation that week, fine but there's no reason outside of lack of post-season experience he shouldn't be pitching.

Arrieta just keeps rolling along. 15-6 now with a 2.30 ERA. He has a real chance to be the first Cub to win 20 games since the venerable Jon Lieber did it back in 2001

About a week ago I said there's no reason why Arrieta shouldn't pitch the play-in game if he can and every gave me shite for it. He's the Cubs best chance at winning that one game.
