Will Las Vegas even generate a fan base?

No sports teams come to mind when I think of that town.

It’s a tourist destination and the fans of opposing teams will almost certainly outnumber the home team.

LA still has a ton of Raiders fans. Las Vegas is a quick cheap flight away from LA and a weekend commute is not hard either. They'll have support.

As a lifelong Raiduhfan I'm optimistic. I think the RaiderNation from NoCal and their SoCal days will weekend warrior on into LV, and many Vegas residents will become Raiderfans(maybe not the large Bronco faction)..

SF Chron - LV move..good or bad bet?

Not happening. Jason LaCanfora was on CBS Sports Radio today saying the Chargers are going to be locked in LA for at least the next decade with all the sponsorship deals they have in place. Regardless of how few of their own fans will watch them. He thinks they will draw somewhat better when the new stadium is built.

Yeah, Las Vegas Raiders sounds so foreign. That’s going to take awhile to get used to.

Chargers fan would bathe in tomato juice to get the stink of that idea off of them. Oakland fan would bathe in tomato juice to get the stink of that idea off of them.

Yes. I grew up in Vegas. Locals are very proud of Las Vegas and ready to embrace a team.

The Golden Knights get great support. Vegas fans want to be a major league town and the Raiders coming is a big deal.

There will be plenty of opposing fans who want to go to Vegas and make a weekend of it, but the Raiders will have no problem with locals.

However I will say that the NFL should force teams to rename the mascot when they move.
The las Angelas Rams and St Louis Rams are Not the same. Want a new start? Then restart anew.

They can reclaim their tradition when the move back.

Well we are back where we started with the Los Angeles Rams and Los Angeles Chargers. Wish the Texans would become the Oilers.

So instead of Raiders fans stabbing Chargers fans, they will be stabbing.....each other?

Thats really the best outcome for everyone.

Yeah people who stab other people in their respective parking lots are going to be all-in on the Chargers in Oakland.

Talk about an empty stadium you would lose both San Diego residents and Oakland residents.

This is quite an NFL ill-informed post.

Should the Crips move to Blood territory? Blood territory has a passionate fanbase for everything Blood...and they might actually level the stadium.

Why not move to Blood territory and possibly get murdered in the foreseeable future?

It doesn't make much sense for the Crips not to move into Blood territory.
