Can we reflect several years now into the college football playoff system just how unfortunate it is that this iconic symbol of college football supremacy...
has given way to this unsightly mess that looks like it was thrown together by a first year graphics design student?
Seriously, the level of downgrade in hardware cannot be overemphasized. This new trophy is hideous in comparison.

The American Football Coaches Association still awards the crystal football to the national champion. It’s just taken on a much less prominent role. Which is stupid because the crystal football was an awesome part of the postgame. But if you win the playoff and national championship you still get one.

Bunch of nostalgic mofos in here. the new one looks like a vagina, but the besides the nostalgic aspect the crystal ball is fricking awful too.

I hate that they did it "to distance themselves from the BCS". Which is ridiculous because the crystal football has been around since the 80's and Bill Hancock who was the head of the BCS is still the head of the CFP and was the one explaining how it would all work. They're still the same organization and I'm pretty sure their legal name or holding company is still BCS Properties, LLC or something very close to that. It was a complete misstep by them to change the trophy especially to something so horrid. The 4 possible logos were also horrendously stale. It feels like a sports team/league/entity hasn't made a really quality logo in 2 decades. They all look like they got shite out of Adobe illustrator.
