I was never on board with the Dykes hire. I met with him in April 2022 and he seemed like a good guy and had a good vision.... but this is terrible. He lucked into a national title game appearance with Gary's players and last year showed what we can expect. This year is even worse than last year so far, the defense is extremely soft, the players look like they don't care, and there is no toughness, hustle, or effort. We haven't forced a punt in the last 2 games.

The athletic director also deserves a ton of blame. No one likes him.

I was hoping when GP left that this program could continue to be a program centered on an identity of misfits with a chip on their shoulder, defense, and toughness. But its hard to run a program like that in the modern CFB landscape. If the current NIL/transfer portal era was around when I was at TCU, all of my good teammates would have transferred out to get that NIL bag and we never sniff a Rose Bowl.
