God gave you late night Hawai'i football, and you turn your back on Him?

It's times like these I'm very thankful I'm not stuck anywhere in Eastern Time Zone.

It’s nice to not have to watch on the Team1 app but I’d way rather the homer Hawaii Spectrum announcers than these guys.

The RB false started because the play clock was at :01. Hawaii weirdly seems like they’re in no rush despite being down 14.

Huge penalty on OSU. OPI

Sad college refs are so bad and do not know their own rules.

The ball was not in the air, thus their can be no PI, even if it was a defender, lol. You can battle tooth an nail until the ball laves the QBs hand. Bogus call.

LOL, of course it is, there can be no pass interference until the ball leaves the passers hand. Hell we had this discussion a few years back about a DB and how the Refs made the right call because the NFL and CFB rules are different, in the NFL you can not bump a WR (any receiver) after 5 yards but in CFB you can bump him all day as long as the ball is not in the air. Here's the thing, a lot of dumb commentators had to admit on air they did not know that about CFB.

You are wrong on this friendo, I pretty much don't even like CFB anymore, but its real thing I just told, not some made up guess.

HERE YOU GO: A guy in a debate on a site brought up the rule

News:
In college football there is no such thing as an illegal contact penalty vs receivers. Only forms of illegal contact like holding and pass interference. Can we get this penalty removed since they obviously left it in from reskinning Madden? Defense can make contact down the field as long as the receiver is in front of them and the ball is not in the air.

Of course that applies both ways,

Question by an 8th grader (LOL)

Can a linebacker make contact with a receiver before a pass is thrown to him?

You are in 8th grade. In all junior, middle school, or high school programs the rules are either based on NCAA rules or NFSHSA. There is a 95%+ chance that your league is governed by NFSHSA. So please throw out all NFL rules out the window that you see on TV.

Here is what you can do:

1.) You can make contact with a receiver past 5 yards. In fact you can make contact all the way downfield until the ball is in the process of being thrown. There is no 5 yards or 10 yards or a point at which you have to initiate contact. For instance lets say you line up at 7 yards and give the WR a large cushion. You are playing the out route. The WR comes off the ball a good 10 yards straight upfield, you backpedal a little with him. You see he is cutting towards a post route and want to vacate route to cover outside zone. You are free to push his butt down when he makes the cut.

2.) Given #1 you are not allowed to pull the WR which is a hold. All of the contact that you make as a DB has basically the same rules as a blocker on offense. No hands to neck or face and no holding. Any grab or clench will result in a hold. The ball does not have to be in the air to get this call, and is not technically pass interference.

3.) If you do commit pass interference and ball is not throw in general direction, no call.

4.) If you hold WR and ball is not thrown in direction, still a penalty.

5.) If you hammer a guy while ball is in the air and he is behind the line of scrimmage. Good for you! (big difference between high school rules and NFL. Still can't hold him though)

Let me know if there is anything else to clarify.

-------------------------------------------------------------

I have been watching CFB for 55 years, I understand the rules sir. This guy dug out the actual rules that Gov. CFB which he says governs 95% of high schools, Its not an NFL rule, you can only bump for 5 yards in the NFL. But of course CFB rules are different.
