Agree. They need to hit CA and TX hard.

They used to have a big presence in both CA and TX.

They began concentrating more on Texas during their Big 12 days. Then switched back to CA once in the PAC-12, but haven’t been able to re-establish a solid footprint.

They are ideally situated between two recruiting hotbeds, but also far enough away to be stuck in a recruiting desert.

I think their recruiting budget has increased recently, but they had one of the smallest recruiting budgets amongst P5 schools at one point.

If the admin wanted good football like they did during the McCartney era they would be fine primarily recruiting Cali but they've just been in the check collecting business since Barnett.

Colorado plays Air Force this week, at Minnesota next week, and then begins conference play. Seeing how Arizona looks improved, I’d say the only game they have a chance of winning this year would be Cal at home. What a dumpster fire

And lost by 31. They are beyond saving. Admin won't even pony up $7.8mm to can the coach--likely because the problems are much deeper.

this is accurate. i've lived in denver for 3 years and i've met some people who work for CU.

generally there are significant parts of their admin that simply view athletics as a waste/drain on education. they don't want to be competitive and would be happier if football didn't exist.

Spent a day in Boulder a few months ago on a gorgeous spring day and it was a gorgeous place

Really understand why people like going there .

Great views and downtown is really cool .
