The football world is fine without Tennessee being good.

There's something unnatural about Nebraska being mediocre at best.

All the big rivalries need to be between good teams so they routinely have title implications. If Michigan/Ohio State, Florida State/Miami, and Oklahoma/Texas don't have national championship implications, the game is worse off for it.
Except Notre Dame. frick Notre Dame

I would say it is awesome as it is the one game that everyone in the country has a rooting interest for. Every family in the country has had military in their family and you take sides because of it.

Honestly what I miss the most is when the Big East was ballin around 2005. Awesome Thursday night games between WVU, Louisville, Rutgers, UConn.

college football is better when the top 10 are all great but flawed teams (with maybe one favorite that everyone is trying to take down), as opposed to the current paradigm of 2-4 elite teams that nobody can touch.
Early 2000s was good for this. Game may be too National now, and recruiting talent too consolidated into one region of the country

Hmmm, I'm not sure.
The Vols being relevant would certainly make the SEC East games/race more compelling and the Bama-Vol game watchable.

CFB is better when conference races are competitive. Bama, Clemson, OSU, Oklahoma winning year after year kills the buzz a little. Easy for me to say as an LSU fan, but them beating Bama is kind of refreshing. Getting different schools in the playoffs energizes more fan bases instead of having the same 4 or 5 every year. The ACC being a forgone conclusion sucks.
And what the NFL did to Thursday night is unforgivable. It's good for the NFL's bottom line and nothing else.

Notre Dame 1988-93 was great for college football.
USC is the best brand out west and needs to be great again.
College football is too dominated by one region now.

CFB will be a national sport when we get some schedule parity and an actual post season. Not a beauty pageant.
