So it'll be up to 3-5 extra games for the best players in the country playing against each other. Yeah wear and tear won't be a factor at all...

I'm sure the fanbase whose QB gets taken out in the semi game won't whine about forever.

Though CFB is getting watered down, they at least know what their fanbase loves more than anything.."if our QB was healthy we would have won" while sitting on their favorite barstool until the day they die.

Twelve was already too many.

How many 11-14th ranked teams at the end of the regular season are deserving of playing in the the playoffs?

TCU did get to the championship game. Then there is Washington. Things do happen more often than not. Like Notre Dame when Kelly was the HC there. I expect Notre Dame to make the playoff this coming season.

I don’t think schools really want a bye because that’s a lost game on campus
Then they should've pushed to have quarterfinal and semifinal games on campus instead of giving them to NY6 bowl games. What leverage do the bowl games hold anymore? Even the Rose Bowl just took a huge hit to "tradition" with the PAC-12 being defunct. Bowl games are going to have even less leverage when they look like shite on TV with all the empty seats because fans can't afford to travel to a neutral site conference title game then potentially 3 more neutral site playoff games.

The B1G and SEC conference championship games are going to be like NFL preseason games soon

If there are going to be that many teams in the playoff, they need to do away with all the conference championship games, imo.

It's amazing how every sport I loved has ruined itself. College football, NFL, NBA, and Premier League have all gone to shite. This world sucks more by the day.

How has the premier league gone to shite? Explain yourself immediately

Conference championship games ain’t going away. Hell, I saw someone fairly legit say that the big conferences wanted to expand their playoffs to four teams. It’s all about the $$$$.

Not sure why everyone’s complaining. This means more meaningful games and less if not no opt outs. Makes bowl season fun again.

Then shorten the regular season by a game.

Wouldnt you kind of want to see how the first expansion goes before you expand it again?

Exactly. Teams had players opting out of NY6 games. It was playoff or quit for many. Now you’ll get to see full strength top 14 teams play multiple games instead of Georgia thumping FSU like they were a high school JV team.

You think sacrificing the regular season for a couple of extra meaningful games, that largely won't be competitive, is good trade off?
