That's a helluva call to end game 3 of the Finals on.
One way or the other Cleveland got extra time to run a play.
If anything it should have been a foul on Thompson but it wasn't called a foul and they stopped play when GS was going the other way.
Shitty way for the game to end, I don't care who you're for. If it had happened the other way around, you guys would be pissed and say GS caught a break.

Honestly in the 30 years of bball I played, I can't remember that ever coming up. Of course there has been plays where the ball wasn't in the hands of the other player and someone out of bounds has tried to touch. But never when the player has clear possession and holding the ball.

I'm confused. Why would any player attempt to touch the ball without intent to take possession?
One interesting scenario though would be if a player who has possession of the ball and whose momentum is carrying them out of bounds would then touch an opposing player who is standing out of bounds with the ball before they themselves were out of bounds.
