I'm curious if CHS put their balls on the table and said they would start a private association if the LHSAA slapped them for doing things that aren't any different than other schools.

not false ,it literally happened to my family
what is false is the presumption that because they didn’t have an attendance zone they could recruit anyone they wanted. They were limited to Huntington’s zone, much like Catholic is limited to someone else’s zone, much like all the Catholic League schools are in somebody else’s zone, etc.

Dutchtown suddenly sucked because there were no more hurricanes hitting New Orleans, forcing kids to move out of the NOLA area. That was what made Dutchtown good, was getting good football players like Eddie Lacy and Landon Collins, who had no where to play because NOLA was under water. Catholic isn’t stealing kids from Prairieville Middle.

Are those titles vacated or does the runner up get to claim the title?

Meh, the results on the field are the only ones that matter. Everyone remembers who won the titles.

Is the D1 title even worth boasting about?

I mean, compare the D1 bracket to 5A.

if the same thing happened to Curtis or Acadiana, the Catholic fanbase would be laughing with delight

Beating a champion vs. beating that same team for the championship is a whole another platform.

I guess winning an extra game in a playoff vs the 49th best team in the state is a big reason to boast.

Regardless, it’s still an “asterisk” by it.

Well, was an asterisk.

Fertita had been dancing on the line for a few years.. The admin finally had enough and had it out with him over a few completely unqualified kids he wanted in school. This led to some pissed people who were more than obliged to seek some comeuppance for Fertita. Many parents were growing tired of this bc the school was hammering avg catholic parents and alumni to bridge the gap as they call it in, meeting need based scholarships. Many grew real tired of the idea of donating knowing their kid probably would be affected in playing time. FTR. Catholic also goes heavy on recruiting on the academic side as well.

D1 is the best bracket in the state. The top D1 teams would run though 5A up to the semifinals.
