Didn't USC beat the shite out of Iowa in the Orange Bowl that year?

Good for him. He had a long, very good career and is retiring with his health, and presumably a lot of money in the bank.

That's not the point... how can you not even win the O'Brien as the best QB, but beat out the guy who did for Heisman? Makes no sense. Much more impressive taking Iowa to 11-1 and the orange bowl than a loaded Pete Carroll USC team

Nobody cares.

I KNOW WHAT'S BEST FOR PALMER'S KIDS!!!!
I don't think it's that inflammatory to think that pulling kids out of school that late in a school year is probably not wise.
But hey, keep doing you bro.

Yes. Scoreboard, indeed.

Why did he have to pull his kids out of school and immediately move?

You think he got sidepieces coming out of the shadows?

Carson Palmer is one of the most overrated qbs ever. He's average at best.

Yeah, Palmer had a blip of a renaissance, but he's one of the worst playoff quarterbacks of all time.
The Cards still have a decent window with Arians, Johnson, and that defense, but they'll need a better big-game QB than they had in Palmer. Romo/Garappolo ain't the answer. But drafting a guy like Watson could be very tempting.

There's been quite a few USC to NFL QB's and he's undoubtedly been the most successful in this millennium.
He's been the best USCw QB since the 2k's

To be fair, Palmer had like 20 different offensive systems in his 4 years at USC.

He was the one who made USC relevant again

One of my favorite games even though we lost.

Great way to get out of OTA's

I don't think he was ever trying to say Darron Thomas should have won over Cam
Posted on 2/2/17 at 4:55 am to BowlJackson
That just reminded me how disappointing that game was. Had such high expectations for an awesome game with Cam and that Oregon offense and it was a snoozer

It's sort of like MVP and OPOY in the NFL. Voters view OPOY as a consolation prize for the runner up to the MVP. If I had to guess, O'Brien award is viewed the same way.
