Tough weekend series
Colorado is playing much better at home lately, and their bullpen has put out some of the fires.
there was a stretch of home games where they were giving up 8 runs a game, with the pen being horrendous and leaky.

Dude is flat out dealing. Reds have some bats too.
Starting to look reminiscent of the '84 Sutcliffe mid-season acquisition so far the way he's pitched since he's been here.

Lester, Hendricks, and Hamels have all been nails lately.
Montgomery has been efficient in place of Yu.
With the addition of Murphy, the bats have woken up(small sample size I know), but as a Cubs fan there is room for optimism.
Hopefully we can finish strong and continue to improve.

Cubs have been kinda treading water all year, to me it's amazing they have the best record in the NL as poor as the starters have been most of the year and as wildly inconsistent as the bats have been.
Nice to finally see the starting pitching trending upward. Get KB back and Murphy is always gonna be $...starting to think maybe they might finally start playing like we should rightfully expect them too.

I think we should have a joint Cubs/Cards thread every year

How many games did the cubs gain on the cardinals those last 7 games?

David Bote is the fricking truth.
Rookie hits another walk-off.

The Cardinals are trying to gain on the Cubs. The redbirds fell off pretty quick to be so excited about 2nd place. It sucks to suck.
