So again I ask, were you mad when MLB allowed Trump to throw the first pitch in a MAGA hat?
That divisive political message was disrespectful, right?
Just to be clear, I am not a Trump supporter and never have been. I get the impression that you are assuming that someone opposed to the BLM message on the mound would necessarily be a Trump supporter.
I do not object to Trump throwing out the first pitch in a MAGA hat (though I wish that he would lose the MAGA hat), nor would I object to, say, AOC throwing out the first pitch wearing a Black Lives Matter shirt (though I wish that she would lose the BLM shirt). In both cases MLB would have asked an elected official to participate in the pre-game ceremony of throwing out the first pitch, without anticipating what each would be wearing. In both cases it is not MLB that is expressing speech--rather, it is MLB permitting an elected official to participate on a ceremonial part of the game, and it is the elected official who is expressing divisive ideas in what they are wearing. I am strongly opposed to both Trump and AOC, but as elected officials it would not be inappropriate to invite them to participate in the pre-game ceremony, out of respect for their offices. I do wish, however, that both would participate without including the divisive messages in what they are wearing.

All of this is fair.

Then let the BLM leader throw the first pitch... Having it on the field is completely different than allowing someone to throw a pitch.

A political statement is a political statement, what does it matter how it is presented? Especially if the argument is "politics should not be in sports?"
By that logic, are you ok with some players kneeling? After all, it's completely different than having BLM on the field.

It’s crazy how deeply afraid most people here are to face or even try to accept the fact that generation upon generation of enslaving black people and then afterwards treating them less than human has resulted in such a blatant violation of basic human rights and that we still haven’t addressed it hundreds of years later.
The fear runs so deep that you all would rather turn from the things you would otherwise love and then have to run to all of your other uneducated buddies to look a big man making a statement.
This has nothing to do with BLM or the OP.
BLM is a hate/supremacist group on par with the KKK or neo-nazis, but with a communist political ideology.
Would you watch the MLB if a swastika was stenciled onto the mound?

How are you so mentally weak that you can’t ignore something or change the channel for 2 minutes to enjoy something you like.
Because some people have a spine and won’t financially support an organization that endorses this madness. I’m not even a boycott type I just won’t watch any sports because I stopped caring when it started not to be about sports anymore.

Aw, shucks. Better put on one of those boo-boopty-do records.

By a meaningless stenciled phrase?
If it’s meaningless, why is MLB virtue signaling by putting it on the field?

Why would you give money and power to people that hate you?
You think everything you do and buy is from people who share your values?
That’s adorable.
I sure hope you didn’t post that from an iPhone

How is saying that black lives matter divisive?
When you all stop shooting each other over stupid nonsense and disrespecting each other
maybe that will show that they really matter to your “community.” Until then, why should I give shite?
Because at this point, I don’t give a frick. Carry on.

Because the people that are saying it can't bring themselves to say "black".
Just like with MAGA and BLM. All of this shite has taken on codes.

horseshite.
All lives do actually matter. There's nothing wrong with that statement. Firing someone that values life is cracked up.
Demanding that someone be fired for saying that is even more insane.
