Nothing was more abominable than the notorious toonces.
I still can't believe someone paid for and signed off on that.
Eta: I think we can blame the 90's for many of the most notable logo design atrocities

No I’m saying it’s recognizable and you can clearly see the WSU and cougar head.
Those two things do not remove the fact that it's a horrifically designed logo. And a couple people ITT have already said they didn't see it.
I'm no brewers fan but their old logo is a fantastic example of a sports logo that integrates letters seamlessly.
If anyone on this board can tell me with a straight face they look at that logo and think it looks like a cougar and not a lion, and imma call you an idiot or a liar.

Then they’re not observant, It’s very distinctive it’s WSU

Wrong. Wazzu has one of the best. It’s unique, and when you see it, you know it’s the Cougs.
It’s not generic block letters, and it’s not a design that is commonly used.
In its own conference, it’s better than Washington, Oregon, Oregon State, Stanford, Arizona, ASU (non Sparky), and on par with any of the others.

Not to mention the helmet picture he posted is not an actual UW helmet, and it's nothing like what the badgers have now. And there are tons of other schools that use the motion W as their logo, because it's a great design.
The motion W is actually a great example of a logo with nuance and touch.

Wrong it’s unique they wanted something people recognize immediately that’s what a logo is for
They were using Cougars with underline in script until that It fits in everything and like the PowerCat and Hawkeye recognizable.

You're bitching about WSU looking like a lion instead of a cougar, but you've got the audacity to talk about the nuance and touch of a fricking red "W" when you're the Badgers?

GFY. It's the best logo in sports

Legit the worst designed logo in the entire NCAA.

Wait, you do know Wisconsin starts with W, yes? Just like Michigan starts with M and Georgia a G (even though they use the Packer G). If the design of the UW logo was to make it look like a badger I would hope it would at least look like one and not a completely different animal.

The logo is a disaster.

Yes.
However, how am I supposed to know it's Wisconsin simply from the W?

You think there is nuance and touch in a red W, but you can't see a cougar when you know they're the Cougars.

Because it is unique and specific to Wisconsin, like the A design to Arizona.
Like I said earlier... if a graphic designer submitted this logo to their boss and said, "see, it's a cougar, and it's got the letters in it!" They'd be fired on the spot.
And again. The brewers logo is the standard for this type of treatment.

Well, I did start a thread to talk about how bad it is, so perhaps that qualifies.
