Can the Lakers land 4 superstars this offseason?

Looks like the Lakers are he front runners for James and George. Some reports also link Cousins to the Lakers however I still think the Pelicans are the leaders in that race.
That being said there has also been reports of the Lakers having interest in Kawhi Leonard. He is a free agent next summer and can sign with LA then. Would San Antonio take Ingram, Deng, Hart and picks for Leonard? Leonard makes $21,000,000 this upcoming season which is a bargain on the trade market.
Next move the Lakers could pull is Ball and Kuzma for another star that could be a free agent next year like Jimmy Butler or Kemba Walker.
If the Lakers are willing to use all of their youth as trade chips they can along with their salary space roll out a team of
PG - Walker ($12,000,000)
SG - George ($30,000,000)
SF - Leonard ($21,000,000)
PF - James ($30,000,000) - would have to leave about $5,000,000 on the table
This leaves about $8,000,000 for veterans. If they go the rout of not getting Walker they can keep Ball and Kuzma which might be better allowing for about $15,000,000 for free agents.

Kobe really left a huge hole there if it take 4 Stars to win a championship now

That is the pipe of all pipe dreams right there.

Or Kevin Durant, the second best player alive, joined a 73-9 team and now everybody is trying to chase them down.

There’s no way Kawhi turns down the $219M supermax when the Spurs offer it imo. And I don’t see Pop trading with the Lakers unless he absolutely fleeces them.
The smartest thing the Lakers can do imo is go for two stars, do anything possible to retain Randle, and keep as much of their young depth (Ingram, Lonzo, Kuzma, Hart) as possible. You don’t want Lebron forced to lead the league in minutes again and you can always make a trade for a 3rd star with some of those assets down the road.

Why not have PG opt in, then go to LA?

Be honest, if you were SA, would you accept that?

I sure hope so.
It's been brutal watching the Lakers the last five seasons, save for one glorious night on April 13, 2016.

I hope Lebron goes to SA and Kawhi stays. I don't like Lebron or Pop, but that would make things interesting.

there is no deal that SA would take for kawhi and get back fair value. but they could do a loooooot worse than that proposed deal
and to answer the question. no. its virtually impossible for the lakers to land 4 superstars this offseason unless they all agree to take pay cuts

Kobe couldn't beat Phoenix. You think he'd have a shot in hell vs these GSW?

Only if I knew Leonard was gone at the end of the season. I would ask for Kuzma as well.

Randle, Ingram, Ball, Kuzma and Hart are legit young players. Instead of trying to score in FA, the Lakers should try for PG and LeBron/Kawhi and let the young core develop to match them.
This requires them to retain the younger guys, but even if they let one or two go, they have developing players. I'm not sold on Kuzma, but I think Ingram, Ball and Randle all becone legit assets.

They should trade Ball for a pack of chewing gum

I get a feeling this will be unpopular here, but Lonzo is a good building block for them.
He was an elite rebounder for a pg, above average as a passer and defender. He needs to shoot a better percentage and people get stuck on that.
Among rookies, he was 4th in rebounds per game, 2nd in assists and 2nd in steals. He needs to become a better shooter, but there's more than just shooting and scoring and he's very good in every other category.

LeGOAT and the Miami superteam did it before, who says he and some other stars can't do it again? Unless their only concern is money and not winning and glory and love of the game which is not representative of the objective of NBA basketball for teams

What the hell is worse than taking on a 33-year old Deng who you'd then owe $36m over the next two years?
You're right in that SA is never going to get fair value back for Kawhi, but they don't have to take that crap.

Well yea. Deng would need to be out. But just Ingram and Hart would be good value
