It looks like the Ragin' Cajuns will be playing in the R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl for a fourth straight year.

Isn't the Nola bowl given to the #1 team in the Sun Belt?

No sir you are mistaken. The contract stated they had to take the Sun Belt champion once every 4 years (not sure if that has changed or not). They filled that obligation last year. Even if GSU would have been bowl eligible (It's bullshite they aren't) the NOLA bowl could still pick who they want. The only factor in that instance is that GSU would be guaranteed a bowl had they been bowl eligible.

The New Orleans bowl will do whatever they can to keep ULL going to their bowl. No other team that is attached to the bowl can come close to brining the same attendance

So if ULL is happy with going to the same Bowl every year, what makes their program any different that Southern or Grambling? They all end their seasonsat a pre-determined game at a semi-neutral site in New Orleans.

omg lsu has best fans ever lol

Yeah, that's rich, coming from lsu ...... THE trashiest fan base ever. How about how when they screamed frick you saban on national tv? Or how they booed the bama band. Yeah, very classy folks....guess that's what they mean by 'flagship' behavior. Just glad the game ended so quickly they have time to boo their own team.

What he said.

I think the NCAA rule is bullshite as well and an exception should have been made

Also, its too bad the sunbelt doesn't have 12 teams so a conference championship game could have taken place.

Yeah, nothing like a 10 AM start...woohoo good times. Is HUD going to wear a polo that's 3 sizes too small for him again?

Is your reading comprehension that bad?

ULL fans, majority I know, are not content with NOLA Bowl every year. We would love to be at a better bowl. However, as long as we're in the Sunbelt and we don't finish a regular season with 10+ wins, NOLA Bowl is pretty much the best option we have.

Did not know that. Thank you for that insight to the Nola bowl.

Geez man, programs have to start somewhere. And no a bowl game is much different than a band competition that Southern and Grambling have.
How is 4 years to the New Orleans bowl an different than all the years Boise played in the damn Idaho Potato Bowl and whatever it was before that?

Winning (or just going to) bowl games gets name recognition, which gets recruits, which gets better teams, which hopefully leads to bigger and better bowls down the road.

Yall could try winning the Sunbelt. Apparently, it's really easy. A Div2 school did it their first try

Not looking forward to that 10 am kickoff though.

In addition to this being the 4th straight year in the N.O. Bowl, I think this might kill the allure for some of our fans.

I'd be cool with the New Orleans Bowl every year. Where is there to go? Mobile?

But the 10 am kick is brutal.

The New Orleans Bowl is good for ticket sales, atmosphere for the fans, and cheaper from a cost perpective for the university. Busing players and band to New Orleans is a cheaper than doing the same to Mobile or having to fly to some other location.
