I have no dog in the hunt but I think the ascendancy of Catholic and Rummel has less to do with the split and more to do with the retirement of Don Shows a d the dismantling of the greatest football power in the state (Evangel). The split just so happened to closely coincide with Shows retirement and the decline of Evangel (due to the LHSAA declaring war on they and JC)

The only dismantling ECA did was self destruction and Don Shows lost so many times to ECA he stopped playing them in the regular season.
The rise of Shows coincided with the closing of Ridgedale where most of the good white athletes wanted to attend. The rise of ECA coincided with the fall of Caddo and To a lesser extent Bossier Parish schools. When ECA began taking vouchers. It was over. Denny Duron or not back at the helm ECA is done. I predict the school will close within five years.

Nope. Truth told he's not much of a head coach. Great coordinator, not head coach.

Wing t is tough to win championshipa with but easy to win games with. If that makes sense.

It's got a high floor and a low ceiling, for an offense, that's the best way to say it ,I guess.
is that because of the offense itself? Or because Wing T teams making up for talent deficiencies on offense are likely to have those same deficiencies on defense too?

Like we say with the veer, it’s like novocaine, give it time, it always works... well I guess so if you only need 7 or 14 points most of the time

I will say congrats to Catholic though. I’m in the same boat that wishes there wasn’t a split. I miss the epic playoff games against Catholic and Rummel and hell even STM when they were really good that one year.

I’m talking about in 2010 before the split

That STM team was really good, and beat the hell out of Acadiana earlier in the year. Went undefeated until Acadiana beat them 32-0 in the semifinals.

Don’t think they would have beaten WM though

I give Zachary full credit for their titles, they voted against the split. Acadiana on the other hand.....

How soft is Acadiana for voting for the split? They had titles before the split and competition was perfect

Guess it worked out for them, they are winning titles in years Rummel and Catholic whipped up on em

Yea, I agree. Fortunately for Catholic now they have a chance to get titles, where as before they actually had to beat these teams when it counted in the playoffs and came up short. Good for them.

Nice effort, but fell a little short on execution. Maybe you can RA and try and vote me out. Worked for Acadiana before

Acadiana went to the dome 4 out of 6 years before the split. They were actually doing better against those soft private schools. I’ll agree it was a mistake. You win.

Same with WM and Destrehan

We talked about it last week. Ironically enough, the soy power 5a schools that voted for the split or abstained (Acadiana, WM, Desty) seems to have lost a step to the privates they ran from in rummel, stm, and Catholic

I’m agreeing with you. I don’t know who voted for it, it wasn’t me. Acadiana isn’t scared of playing anyone, I can assure you of that. But the fact is they were doing pretty good before the split. I have said it and I’ll say it again, I wish there were no split. But congrats on the title regardless. You guys earned it.
