Why would management like watching their present and future get carted off like that

Because he’s another Burrow fig who will always hedge against Cincinnati because Burrow cannot do anything wrong

By distanced video, appears to be right calf muscle strain. Doesn't appear to be Achilles. This is the non ACL side. Could miss significant training camp time and gastroc strains do linger.

Also sounds logical since he has a sleeve on that same calf

Best case scenario. It's gonna bother him a good portion of the year, but it's way better than a torn achilles.

Joe Burrow told reporters yesterday he was looking forward to extended preseason action for the first time:

2020: COVID, no games
2021: Returning from ACL, 3 snaps
2022: Appendix rupture, no action
2023: Calf strain, ???

Donovan Wilson, Shreveport native and A&M alum, had a similar injury yesterday. He was carried to an injury tent, then also carted off the field.

Turns out it was a calf strain. Out 4-6 weeks. A calf strain is essentially a tear. It can linger and takes several weeks to heal, but he is a Safety and still expected back by the season opener.

I had a bad calf strain 4 months ago. Injured it while sprinting and I hopped around just like that. You don’t know shite from watching that video other than “injured calf area”

The good news is it looked like the O Line was blocking pretty good on that play. So there is a positive.

I didn't watch Taylor's press conference, but this is what Rap tweeted:

quote:

#Bengals coach Zac Taylor tells reporters that QB Joe Burrow suffered a calf strain — which is much better news than several alternatives. Have to imagine this takes him off the field for the preseason. TBD on a timeframe.

Someone else also tweeted that Burrow already had a sleeve on that calf when he started practice.
