Hell of a coach and kudos.

Him and Fuente had to be at each other’s throats. No proof but it’s not hard to conceive.

Frank Beamer’s special teams (Beamer Ball) and Bud Foster’s defenses. Both seemed to lose their shine toward the end.

Foster is the DC who broke the code to Urban Meyer's Read/Option offense.

I bet they were

They didn’t gel on the sideline

It was supposed to be Bud’s job

Fuente if he keeps it up will be shown the door soon

The next season was Cardale Jones in a modified Pro-Style. If they had run Barrett in the Read/Option, Foster would have crushed it again - just like Clemson did in 2016... 31-0 (following Foster's blue print - Barrett had minus 2 yards rushing in that game)

It's amazing how bad his defense was last year. Went from allowing 187 points to over 400.

It sounds like Beamer still has a LOT of influence over that program like Lloyd Carr did at Michigan when RichRod took over. If they let Fuente run it on his own with no Beamer influence, it'll work.

the year before the were in the top 5 in scoring defense, then this past season giving up 49 points to Old Dominion, complete turn around

I would have loved to see what he could do with elite talent. He never really had too many blue-chippers but he seemed to always get the best out of the guys he had.

Was reading yesterday that since he has been at Tech, he has had over 50 1st round picks on his defense.

Maybe 50 draft picks total, but certainly not 50 1st round picks. He's also been on the staff since 1987.

He's only had four 1st round picks on his defense

DeAngelo Hall-8th overall (2004)
Kyle Fuller-14th overall (2014)
Tremaine Edmunds-16th overall (2018)
Terrell Edmunds- 28th overall (2018)

Yes, he earned some respect though. He got a lot out of his teams. Even at the end when things sputtered, he still found a way to stop us.

Fuente is screwed. He can’t run the program with Beemer interfering.

too bad. I enjoyed watching Georgia Tech run the ball for 400+ yds and over 40 pts against that smug fricker last year. Threw 1 or 2 passes the entire game.
