I would have loved for him to say “We are a top 4 team, without question...unless that question is why we got our asses kicked by Clemson”

But honestly what else is he supposed to say to something like that? “We don’t deserve to be there, we’re an ok team who hasn’t beaten anyone impressive and we’ll be happy with a Cotton, Sugar, or Rose bowl appearance.”

If Notre Dame scores a TD instead of missing a 24 yard field goal, then even gets a field goal on the drive they dropped a wide open pass on 4th, the score is now 34-20, and this isn’t a conversation.

Why does everyone assume Ohio state is good? Some radio pundit was questioning who Texas A&M had played. Well, who the hell has Ohio State played? I cannot think of a team that has received an easier pass to the playoffs.

I think the reality is that there are only two teams that are clearly playoff worthy. Outside of Clemson and Bama, everyone’s resume is seriously flawed.
OSU is essentially there because they started there. We have no idea how good or bad they are.

If TL didn’t get COVID Notre Dame would be a two loss team. And because college football wants to make Notre Dame their darling, they get the pass as always. They get to stay an independent but always get treatment of a power five team. Their big quality win is completely overlooked of what it really was. Great let them get in and get blown out round one. We all know who they really are.

Clemson is the best team in the country. Their defense is miles better than Bama’s, and the offenses are close but slight Bama edge based on receivers. That said Notre Dame is a lot closer than 24 points to them. The -10.5 point spread is probably accurate. That said Bama is the only team that comes within 10 of them.
