I like how the owner of the Dolphins allegedly wanted to tank so bad in 2019 he was paying Flores 100k/loss.
Let’s go back to the end of that season. I’m a casual Dolphins follower because my wife is from Miami.
Week 15, dolphins enter 3-10 against the Giants who also sucked and they were “fighting” for better draft position. Giants win, leaving the Phins at 3-11.
Week 16, Dolphins play against Cincy, who at the time had the worst record in the league. With 11+ min left, Miami leads 35-12, but they end up blowing the lead and Cincy forces overtime which included a successful onside kick with 23 straight points. They enter OT where after a back and forth, Miami finally ends it with a walkoff FG with 0:00 left in the game. The win seals the #1 pick for the Bengals and they draft Big Dick Joe Burrow.
Had the dolphins lost, they would’ve been in great position to net the #1 overall pick because they would’ve had the loss to the bengals and giants. Instead, they screw themselves further by ending the season with a W against the Pats in Tom Brady’s last game as a patriot.
Dolphins were so close to having Burrow and I honestly blame Flores.

My god, the insufferable extreme virtue signaling coming from white journalists is at an all time high right now

In this case it’ll get settled because the nfl doesn’t want discovery.
Why not?
Highly unlikely that Flores can prove any of that.

It would be funny as frick if the NFL responded by opening an investigation into Flores for potentially throwing games.

Keyshawn Johnson, on his show last week, said that if he was a general manager with the authority to hire a head coach, "I'm hiring someone who looks like me" but I guess that isn't racist.

And from Flores' POV if he tanks the season there's a chance he becomes Steve Wilks, defensive coach fired after a year for a hotshot offensive guy to work with the #1 pick QB.

It is Flores fault, the obvious thing to do was to start Rosen the whole season, he went with Fitzpatrick and set the franchise back some years and it cost him his job in the end.

This is a weird area of hindsight because during that season, while the common thought was that they should tank, the whole thing was to tank for Tua

True it was originally tank for Tua but then Burrow had his goat season and the plans changed, can't fault taking Tua over Herbert, no one knew Herbert was that good.

Why not? He didn't go pick 159, he was the next pick.

Flores' suit includes texts from Bill Belichick that appear to show him congratulating him on getting the Giants job, mistakenly believing he was texting Brian Daboll. This was before Flores' interview with the Giants took place.
I read the actual texts and that’s not what happened. Bill got a text informing him that Brian Daboll was getting the Giants job.
Bill misread, and thought Brian Flores was the choice, so he congratulated Flores.
Then he went back to the original text and realized it was Daboll.
Belichick didn’t accidentally text Flores.

Well, apparently Keyshawn and others consider the hiring of "someone who looks like me" is only racist if it's a white person doing the hiring. If it's him, it's perfectly okay.

But again, if we're conceding people actually do hire others that look like them, we'll...

Colin Kaeperdick deuxième partie! What's next? Sitting on their culs during the National Anthem?

If we're conceding that point, then both actions are racist. But don't call one racist and not acknowledge that the reverse is equally racist.
If you are referring to this particular lawsuit, however, it's a pretty steep hill to climb if he hopes to prevail on the merits.

At least we know Dolphins owner fixes games.
How that isn't a bigger story is beyond my understanding.
People wager big money now, legally, and although this happened in 2019 this shite can't possibly be legal anymore. Fixing games for any reason now, whether for betting or "draft picks" should be a legal matter from here on out. Otherwise it can't be trusted.
