YT link withthe proper time code to skip ahead to 2:57

Summary:

The NFL doesn't consider moving the back foot as illegal pre-snap movement, as it's only considered changing stance. As long as the OL is in a 2-point stance, and his torso doesn't move forward, this is legal. Also, the OL can't take a full step backwards pre-snap. If the foot is in the air and the ball is snapped, it's unlikely it will be called a false start.

If you go to about 8 minutes into the video, he does discuss how OTs are constantly lining up illegally and this should be called . He even has film where the OTs are lined up behind receivers lined up off the line.

Florio has been whining a lot about this and basically thinks the league will let the offense have an advantage to protect QBs.

This made me laugh.
Fake news Mike Florio once again complaining about "false starts."

Kollman’s stuff is good.

On the other hand, even if Mike Florio has a point, Florio can frick off.

Explained it better than the talking heads in the commentary booth of the game.

I actually wonder if there’s a chance Kollmann could get a big enough following to get picked up by someone national to do broadcasting. He’s fricking epically good.

I remember when it was a penalty for the OL to move at all. Now they can do this shite, they can stand up and walk around if there’s an audible, and it really drives me crazy when a DL jumps in the neutral zone and the OL spazzes out and draws the flag.

It's getting old how the NFL just makes up rules on the fly then internet heros try to make fans feel stupid for thinking there should be a penalty when they don't know the unwritten rules.

I think the problem is you're thinking of a halcyon NFL running dinosaur offenses relying on OL to be in 3-point stances primarily, while today they're in 2-point stances. The rules are the same. Teams just play differently and the rules have a different impact given that stylistic/schematic change.
