wonder how many of his passing yards were just HB dump offs to Harvin or Demps that they took 40+ yards
not to mention that any QB would have had success running behind the pouncey brothers. Maurkice started all 16 games and made the pro bowl as a rookie

For some reason I'm pulling for Tebow now even though I HATED his arse in college...literally was hoping for him to get knocked out in every game. I guess it's the "pull for the underdog" phenomenon at work, but I hope he finds a way to succeed.

Tebow needs to leave the Broncos in order to be successful. He won't ever be successful playing under Elway. In fact, I'm not sure any QB can be successful at Denver playing behind that dumpster fire they call an OL.

not sure, and don't have the stats.....but Tebow was one of the most accurate long ball passers in college football (during his 3 years starting).

how many "long balls" did he complete in big games against LSU, Bama, or Auburn?
just scrolling through his senior year game logs most games he threw for under 200 yards

Throwing the ball in the direction of wide open receivers against the Citadel
=/=
NFL accuracy
Cam is going to struggle because he isn't any more accurate. Pryor is worse which is why he announced he would be willing to play another position.

Orton did OK behind that line...

Stats don't mean shite if they don't produce wins.

+1
Kind of funny the number of people even dogging his college career now.

Oh, I forgot. ONLY the quarterback is responsible for team wins and losses...

just convert him to fullback or tight end.
Posted on 8/22/11 at 8:37 am to DirklasDaDirk
No, you don't need to do that, either.
What needs to happen is that he needs a full offseason in the same system.
He was one of those guys who was the most hurt by the lockout. However, the new rule regarding the #3 QB can actually help him during the season because he'll be able to play in certain packages that play to his abilities while he still gets practice time in the current system and will be able to present a more legitimate challenge for the starting job next season.
Denver shouldn't throw the season away by rushing him into action, and when they drafted him, everyone and their grandmother knew he was a project. So let him be a project and stop trying to force stuff with him.

I think Tebow played against Bama and Auburn 3 times throughout his 3 years starting (the 2 bama games were tSECCG).
and Tebow's senior season (2009) was a giant clusterfrick for the offense. Merlins left, Addazio fricked everything up, and Tebow's serious concussion didn't help out much either.
I'll repeat again though, Tebow was money passing the ball deep in college. Dude was extremely accurate with his 15+ yard passes.
I'm sure (you being an LSU fan and all), you can remember pretty vividly Tebow's "coming out party" his freshman year in which he threw a 50+ yard bomb to Louis Murphy against yall

what exactly does "NFL accuracy" have to do with the statement you quoted? How many times did UF play the Citadel? How many qbs were more accurate (15+, 25+, etc) than Timmy during his time @ UF? I'll be waiting......

They have one now, IMO.
I agree.

I know being a florida/tebow fanboy affects ur memories but he didn't throw any 50+ yard bombs. He was 2/2 passing for 36 yards.
37/63 for 502 yards combined n his 3 starts vs LSU
Not terrible but when u consider the other NFL QBs we faced during those years (Stafford, Mallet) were lighting us up for over 300 yards iy doesn't really compare

Tim Tebow will never succeed in the NFL. The broncos don't have a vendetta against him. That is the biggest bs conspiracy theory if there ever was one. The broncos want to win and an unaccurate qb with a long throwing motion and without quick decision making will not win in the NFL. The truth is Orton and Quinn are better NFL qbs and tebows the better college qb.
Posted on 8/22/11 at 10:22 am to sgallo3
I'm sorry, it wasn't a 50 yard bomb.....only a measly 35 yard bomb. What a thing of beauty, perfectly executed and put right on the money. That was the debut of the rock-step, single-man play action pass, and of course the patented Tebow jump-pass. Timmy was responsible for all 3 UF touchdowns on that glorious day. Too bad JaWalrus was sippin on that purple drank before that game.....that was yalls NC to lose.....

As I said he was a gimmick QB. His passing success was a result of teams having to pile up against the run threat. Noone is afraid of tebow running in the nfl so if he is going to succeed he needs to devote at least a year and a half to his mechanics n he doesn't seem to believe people or be able to fix them because he still goes back to the college mechanics n crunch time

Wow! Just wow! It still amazes me that most LSU fans still can't admit how great of a college qback Tebow was....."overrated" Really?!?....He IS THE greatest college football player in history thus far, yes greatest!
Chances are good that he won't make it in the pro's...but he might. The hatred for this guy is unbelievable!!
