Boxing "robbery" decisions...been a few I remember

Fights where the loser literally got robbed.
Park Si-hun over Roy Jones Jr in the Olympics - To his credit, Park shook his head no when the decision was announced.
Ray Leonard over Marvin Hagler - A travesty. Hagler clearly won that fight.
Muhammad Ali over Jimmy Young - The only people who watched that fight and thought Ali won were the judges. Young was robbed.

First one that comes to mind was that Australian baw who had the home cooking against Pacquiao.

Jeff Horn over Manny P was a really bad one.

Jeff Horn is the guys name, and yes, it was an out and out robbery.

Leonard Haggler is the one that immediately leapt to mind.

Horn over pac was horribly bad. Free fight on ESPN that was boxing’s chance at working it’s way to becoming a main draw again and the refs fricked it up. I had never really watched boxing before that fight and was all in until the retarded decision

No question. This is what turned me off from boxing.

NFL officials get a ton of shite for being terrible (and it’s all deserved), but boxing and MMA judges are truly the worst officials in all of professional sports.
Joe Rogan recently called one of the judges out live on PPV for not even watching the fight. It went on for a good two minutes of Rogan looking at the judge and he wasn’t even watching the fight (was looking at his phone, talking to others, etc). How does that happen?

i saw a super middleweight championship fight in montreal. canadian-romanian champ (many years) lucian bute who was gloriously elegant boxer was knocked silly by late flurries in last rounds by slugger with zero finesse and a big right.
bute won close decision.
disgusting judges.
bute outclassed loser all early rounds. got tagged.
tagged. tagged.
b.s. decision
I presume judges gave bute 10-8 rounds early.
loser looked like he had 10% Neanderthal dna. huge face bones. bute connected often but to no avail. at the time i marveled how bute didnt seem to have a big punch but managed years of championship wins on boxing skill.
i swear, at 148 i had a bigger punch than 168 bute.

De la Hoya vs Trinidad was turrible. I watched at Harrahs and most of the Hispanic crowd was pulling for Trinidad. They were all pissed before the announcement of Trinidad winning. They were all confused and didn't know how to even celebrate.

this happens in casinos when crowd wagers one outcome but falls in love with gutty performance.

The Ali over Young fight was just as bad.
quote:
Former Ring magazine editor Lester Bromberg called the decision a "travesty". New York Daily News reporter Dick Young said: "[Ali won] by the grace of three hero-worshipping fight officials. I believe many people, the voting officials among them, refuse to believe what they see when one of their super-heroes doesn't function as expected." After the match's televised broadcast many viewers called to the network to complain about the decision, and Ali's career trainer Angelo Dundee went on record as saying this was Ali's "worst fight". After the match there were calls on Ali to retire from the sport from quarters of the sport's media.

The fact that Ray Leonard never lost in Vegas is never mentioned. Yet 2 of the worst decisions ever happened with him in Vegas.
