Lafayette is the city with the world's largest inferiority complex. Not one team in their city goes by Lafayette. It was quickly dropped in the naming of their pathetic school. Hockey is LA Ice Gators. Minor league baseball was the LA Bullfrogs. Lafayette will never be Baton Rouge and Louisiana Lafayette will never be LSU or for that matter University of Louisiana or Louisiana. I hope that this guy was not employed there because I like the place but can easily get boudin somewhere else. Many people pass through Lafayette and stop there before heading to Tiger Stadium so I would rethink my attire.

It doesn't make sense. I understand Tulane's inferiority complex because there used to be a solid rivalry between the two schools. But LSU rarely associates with ULL. We have no real rivalry to speak of and LSU fans pay no attention to ULL athletics. Unlike most sport hate, this is completely one sided.
Hell, I pull for ULL as long as they don't play LSU, being from Louisiana and all.

La Tech just announced moving to CUSA, but if you go into any store in Ruston(not on campus), you will see 5 times as much LSU stuff as Tech merchandise.
Some fanbases can accept the reality and not be bothered. Everybody can't be LSU or Bama, etc..

I'm a UL student and fan of UL and LSU. The reason UL claims to call itself UL is the same reason LSU is LSU and not Louisiana State University at Baton Rouge A&M. Bringing up the UL stuff is for kids.
I am with all of you-- the hate on LSU from here is ridiculous. Let's be honest, LSU and UL aren't even CLOSE to the same class.
UL is a great place to get a degree from and great community-oriented environment.
