LeBron part of ownership for Vegas.

The Ringer founder Bill Simmons says he has “intel” that the NBA will expand to Las Vegas, and that LeBron James will be apart of the ownership group.
“I have some intel,” Simmons said on the latest edition of The Bill Simmons Podcast. “I think the league is going to expand to Vegas and Seattle.”
Simmons claimed he even has info on how much the two expansion teams will cost. “I heard combined we’re talking 6.5, 7 billon of the two teams,” he said.
“I’m just saying the Vegas thing I would watch that,” Simmons added. “I think it’s officially real — Lebron is definitely going to be involved in that.”

LeBron is trying to outdo MJ again.
MJ was the GOAT on the court but a shite GM and owner.
LeBron will micromanage the frick out of the roster and blame the GM regularly foe doing what he was told to do.

Next question… are there still rules about a player having ownership in a team?
If so, LeBron likely has to retire to do this unless Klutch buys the stake for him, which is its own set of problems.

I would imagine LeBron is retired by the time it's officially done and starting their season. Would be several years still.

The aggregators piece
Love this whole schtick by Bill where he thinks anyone actually calling him out on being wrong makes them “an aggregator”

The Hornets have a very promising future, so let’s pump the breaks on being a bad owner.
Now GM with Washington? Of course.

There is several years but a lot of these groups have their membership locked down several years before they get a team.
Even if it takes 5 years to get a team, how is it not a major conflict of interest for LeBron to do anything when everyone knows this is coming?

They have a promising future now.
His tenure with the Wizards and about the first decade or so with the Bobcats / Hornets were shite.

Right but if the team isn't actively playing he can be an owner and not break any rules. They technically don't exist until the league year starts in which they play.

Move Nola & Memphis to Eastern Conference

If he has enough stake in the ownership to influence decisions that team is doomed.

Still ties into my other comment…
Klutch would be considered an arm of the Vegas team if this were to happen. That can’t sit well with a bunch of teams whose superstars are constantly being poached.

This is why LeBron's puppet, Kendrick Perkins, was pushing last week on ESPN for the NBA to move the Pelicans to Vegas or Seattle.

I’m guessing that’s why he’s on tv. Dude is dumb.

There are no rules for Lebron, he’s already an agent and tampers with the entire league in that regard all the time. It just proves what a silly and low level league the NBA really is.

Part of being owner is hiring the right people, which he has, and deserves credit for that.

Seattle is definitely the next market to get a team again. They spec’d out the new hockey arena to also meet NBA requirements. The new mayor is adamant about bringing a team back.
The only reason they left last time was because the city refused to upgrade the old key arena. That blocker is now removed. Old owner even left the naming rights of the SuperSonics to Seattle for a rebirth in the future

Ya if I remember correctly Seattle was told to get NHL team first then NBA would follow a few years later.
