Very unlikely

He already used his one free transfer and it seemed the decision to come to Ohio State was mostly based on Day, not O'Brian. But who knows anymore.

Also, there are reports that O'Brien was in the typical staff meetings today preparing for the upcoming season. This Dispatch report stems from a Boston Globe report which may not be accurate.

Glad to see you're ok.

In all seriousness, this is probably a blessing in disguise.

Damn Buckeye nation dodged a big ole fat bullet with that. They don’t know how lucky they are.

Not sure why that's funny. Saban leaving was the catalyst, O'Brien opened the door, but Sayin's family has enough sense to know that O'Brien likely wasn't going to be OC past 2 years when Sayin likely starts (perhaps in 2025 depending how the transfers fall).

You clearly are pretty tapped in to Sayin and his clan, tho so.

I just think OSU deciding to buy a championship had more to do with Sayin going to OSU and not Day’s brilliance.

You also won’t find a single Alabama fan on this website who cares less about Sayin leaving than me. I’ve never seen him throw a football and thought it was crazy that fans thought he MIGHT stay. He’d have been doing himself a disservice to not hand pick his best situation after Saban retired. And Alabama right now is not that situation.

Except Sayin’s family contacted Ohio State first. And Ohio State already had a top QB in the class.

”Hello, yes this is Sayin. I’m contacting you to see if you’re still trying to buy a championship? You are? Sweet I’ll take some money.”

Ohio State’s NIL doesn’t throw huge bags at incoming freshmen. They have lost quite a bit of top guys the past few cycles for this specific reason. Jeremiah Smith has been the only exception so far.

Things changed when Michigan beat you 3 times in a row and then won the NC.
