Harbaugh. Won big in the PAC, translated CFB success to the NFL...and for whatever reason can not seem to get Michigan to be a legitimate threat to win the Big.

Herman was a small school hype guy. The bust rate on those is pretty high.

Harbaugh based on his own accolades and those of his family is surprising.

Agree 100%.

Herman is just another guy who parlayed success as a coordinator at blue blood and very brief flash of brilliance at a G5 school into a bigtime job and failed. He's hardly a rarity. We see those guys come along and Peter Principle themselves all the time. He's basically Charlie Strong without as much success at his previous school.

Harbaugh is a different case entirely. He transformed the Stanford program from Vanderbilt of the West doormat into a national contender and regular BCS Bowl team. He had great success in the NFL, very nearly winning a Super Bowl, and then came home to a program he knows like the back of his hand.

So given all that, it's just hard for many to wrap their heads around the fact that Harbaugh can't make it to 11 wins, can't beat OSU at all, and is so inept against the likes of Michigan State, Penn State and Wisconsin.

Herman. Texas has greater resources and they haven't had a team sniff the CFP.
