Another memorable day for the conference so morally superior to the SEC.

So basically they’re saying we want to suspend Harbaugh but have no evidence that directly links him to the scandal, so we’ll say that it’s a penalty imposed on the institution.

Yeah...I think Michigan is filing that injunction now. That is absolute horseshite. They have no evidence Harbaugh sanctioned or that he was aware of what was going on, so they're going to suspend him to punish the university. That logic is how you get dragged into court.

I think the Big Ten commish is a coward, waiting to announce this suspension when Harbaugh is at 35,000 feet and unable to respond or pick up a phone. If they have WiFi on that plane I have no doubt they're all losing their shite up there.

And this is coming from someone who has no dog or care in this fight.

Nah frick him and holier than thou Michigan. This wasn't giving recruits cash or whatever, they're straight up guilty of cheating.

Common sense.

Dude was tied to the hip of the offensive and defensive coordinators during the Michigan games.

They 100% used this guy to gain info by illegal means. And when they didn’t have TCU’s signs they looked pretty average. Because TCU showed how average they were the next game.

Throw the book at em.

Then word it like that in your statement. Don't say that you're punishing the university and not Jim Harbaugh when you're actually doing just that.

Michigan’s statement, says Tony Petitti “disregards the conference’s own handbook, violates the basic tenets of due process and sets an untenable precedent…”

I'm just paraphrasing what the Big Ten's statement said, dude. If they suspect Harbaugh of wrongdoing they should have come out and said that. Instead...they claimed that this isn't a sanction of Jim Harbaugh but a sanction of the university. Read what they wrote.

Of course they had to word it like that. They have to based on their own bylaws

quote:

The policy holds “institutions,” not head coaches, as “responsible for, and therefore, may be held accountable for, the actions of its employees, coaches, student-athletes, band, spirit squads, mascot(s), general student body and any other individual or group of individuals over whom or which it maintains some level of authority.”

Basically lack of institutional control falls on the coach in the NCAA, but B10 holds the institution accountable. So they blame the whole scheme on the institution and punish the coach.

If you read the ESPN article about this, in 2016 Jeff Lebby was "caught" on the sidelines of the Oklahoma vs Tulsa game the week before Oklahoma played against Baylor (Lebby was an assistant for Baylor at the time). His punishment? A half game suspension, no punishment for the head coach.

Not really how legal matters work is it? It’s what you can prove.

Common sense indicates Alabama has had wide scale cheating in place for 16 years which directly impacted results on the field. Is there a trail of evidence to prove this? No, we just have to live with it unfortunately.

Until actual evidence is presented linking Harbaugh to this mess, then he did nothing wrong and should not be suspended. Innocent until PROVEN guilty.

The Big 10 commissioner is a joke and trying to appease other members (i.e., Ohio State and Penn State) by making up arbitrary punishment as he goes. He’ll be raked over the coals for it as he should be.
