That is not a Power 5 conference

A decent conference but they don't deserve an auto NY6 bid

A lot of talk about P4 and such. It’s all a guessing game until a Big 12 school goes undefeated and the playoff committee decides what to do. If they get in, then Obviously the Big 12 is P5. If not , it’s P4 .

Whats going to determine the new status is who gets an auto playoff spot and who doesnt

Yeah, the Big 12 lacks the blue blood anchor programs, but I could definitely see it outperforming and PAC 12 and/or the ACC fairly often.

From an article posted by the Athletic
AP Poll Appearances from 2011 to 2020
ACC: 556
New Big 12: 552
Keep in mind that the ACC added its 13th and 14th teams in 2013. Plus this figure includes 17 appearances by Notre Dame last year

Wonder why no USF as well. They’re a giant school as well and having a bigger footprint in Florida wouldn’t be a bad thing.

I don't accept that this is a power conference, but I don't accept that it isn't, either. It seems a lot better than the old Big East which was part of the BCS formula.
All of these schools have fielded legitimately top-10 teams in the last decade or so:
Cincinnati
BYU
TCU
Baylor
UCF
Houston
Oklahoma State
Iowa State is top 10 right now.
I mean, it's not elite, but it's interesting.

Its the best of the other conferences by a healthy margin and the money being rumored will prove that. But its going to be falling further and further behind the other 4 and I seriously doubt they get an auto spot in the expanded playoff

It’s a better conference than the PAC. Only reason ACC isn’t way behind is Clemson.

That may be but it really doesn't matter. A conference with USC and UCLA and Washington and Oregon is going to have a seat at the table unless they all go to the B1G

Btw, I like these divisions:

The ACC has recent National Championship football programs. The new Big 12 will have zero. There is your major difference right off the bat

Big 12 looking strong. I can totally see why OSU, ISU and them rejected Big 10 and Pac 12 to stay in the Big 12.

You must have missed UCF winning one in 2017

Big 12 is now a basketball conference

Wouldn’t mind if Tulane got an invite.
