I have little faith in us right now.

We could even be a “big upset” in the first round

I think KU will make it to the Sweet 16, then get blown out, sadly. I definitely don't think they'll lose to a 13- or 14-seed.

Looking at the big12 NCAAT performance over the last 15 years or so, and the safe bet would be to pick against the big12.

Nice that you arbitrarily started after KU winning it in 2008, chickenshit.

Titles by conference last 15 years:
Big East: 5
ACC: 5
Big 12: 2
SEC: 1

One was vacated, one was cancelled

So are you betting on the ACC or Big East?

I have no issues with it. Losing to Arkansas last year wasn’t the worst thing either because UConn was going to maul either one of us anyway

Eh, I'd have an issue losing in the tournament, especially if my team was humiliated. It's weird how Saint Mary's was the only team that made UConn even break a sweat.

Love the Missouri guys bagging on the Big 12....wishing they were there and not irrelevant. The good old days of the Big 8 and Big 12.

Sure the checks cash, but I'd much rather be competitive.

Id say Houston and Iowa State seem to be contenders. March is so damn fluky though

It's flukier than ever, so predicting the tourney is a waste of time, but what concerns me about teams who hang their hat on defense, like Houston and Iowa State, is when other teams raise their defensive intensity in the ncaat, the teams playing hard defense in the reg season lose a bit of their edge. That brand of ball seems better suited for the regular season.

this is the only result that would be super disappointing IMO.

you truly have to be great at both to win the title. every title team ends up top 25 kenpom defensively and offensively. a lot of that is obviously due to the tourney run, but you cant be that far off.

concerning contenders for that metric right now:
- iowa state, as you mentioned (65th offensive efficiency)
- bama (100th defensively)
- illinois (103rd defensively)
- baylor (73rd defensively)
- kentucky (97th defensively)

i think any other contender would end up in the top 20 for both if they won it all. the only national champion since 2002 when kenpom began that did not finish in the top 25 for both metrics is 2014 uconn, which obviously makes perfect sense as they are by far the worst champion since '85 nova

Why is nobody taking Creighton seriously? I know I'm biased, but every objective analyst is saying that Creighton is a legit Final Four team.

I understand you’re not happy seeing your team losing 21 games (and counting), but I’m creating a new line of questioning. You say the Big 12 won’t, so the team who wins it will represent which conference?

We were the youngest team in D-1 that year, it really did suck losing the first game after all the excitement from how well we did during a complete rebuild

I don’t know why you’re dancing around it and not just owning it.

You literally say it’s a “safe bet” based on the past 15 years. That’s pretty much saying you think a team from the conference won’t. I don’t even see it as an unreasonable prediction, I just wanna know who you predict to do so?

Legitimate question: what do you think Creighton's chances are, and why?

Creighton has looked like very strong at times this year but I don't think they have enough to win it all. They have some good wins but also were blown out badly against UConn. To me they could be an Elite 8 team if the bracket is right. I wouldn't want to play them when they are clicking.
