Big 10 and PAC 12 being shut out means expansion comes sooner than later

Hopefully they will protest enough to force a change. I have always supported six teams (with top two getting byes). Eight teams could work too.
The ability to get a bye will make regular season more meaningful, which is why I like 6 teams more.

I agree but no matter how many teams it is team n+1 will be encouraged to bitch to fill air time.

Do you go to auto bids then? A team not playing the CCG and gaining while the loser of the CCG is out will become more of a problem with more teams.

Pass.
There isn't a single team ranked #4 or lower that has a realistic complaint about not getting in.

I'd hate that.
The thing that makes college football so fun and different from any other sport is that if your team has national championship aspirations, every game is HUGE. When two great teams in the same conference meet, the games are monumental.
If you expand, those unbelievable games that both teams needed to win turns into "meh, we can still get in even with a loss".
I'd hate to lose that. It would be a complete turn off for me.
And what for? Just so some non-deserving conference champ from out West and a #6 seed can get a shot? No thanks.

Nobody is ever going to be satisfied and leave well enough alone.
It will expand to 6 after bitching and complaining. And then the people who support 8 teams will bitch and complain for years and eventually they will cave and it will expand to 8.
Then the next group of people will complain and it will change again. Etc.

Why? After a 12 game sample, no team from either conference deserves a shot at the title. I mean, the Big 10 didn't have a good OOC win. USC got blown out in their toughest OOC test. UW played nobody OOC.

Nothing will change before current contract runs out

We only had 3 team that's fit the criteria of both best and most deserving and you dumb fricks want an 8 team playoff? Seriously!?

Meh
Until a team gets legitimately screwed, any criticism seems futile.
Ohio State lost two games. One by 31 to a 7-5 team
USC lost two games. One by 35.
At the end of the day these teams failed to control thier own destiny.

it means being a top 2 MEANS something but that one bad game doenst cost you a shot.
And you dont have to make it that conference winner get the auto-bid, but going to the CC and winning it helps you get that bye

8 teams would not allow you to have byes.
I wouldn't mind 12 teams, with 4 byes. Currently, the top 4 get in. In the new system, the top 4 would get a bye. Ohio State, the first team left out, would probably end up playing someone like UCF or Miami.

If you had 8 teams you wouldn’t needs byes, correct?

Chicken, never saw your opinion
Would you have rather kept Les or gotten coach O?

Pac-12 has missed the playoffs 2 out of 4 years...and has the lowest seeded Conference Champion in the playoff era at #8.
Pac-12 needs to be concerned about their scheduling these ridiculously late games that nobody but Sark after dark folks are watching.

Playoff expansion is going to ruin the sport before CTE does.
