Peej is on your side. I'm not worried.

Or its something EVEN Peej knows is obvious, but yet you can't grasp.

Are you 16 or something? Did you not see Pippen in his prime? Guy was absolutely unbelievable and an all-around great player. Melo can only score.

Well, they averaged the same amount of Defensive Rebounds per game for their careers, with Melo's highest being 6.1 and Pippen's being 6.3.

But during Pippens prime he averaged more rebounds (oof and defense) than melo has during his prime. Pippen's prime in assists and steals is higher as well. While his turnovers are lower. He also averaged about 7 fewer FGAs than Melo and had a higher FG%.

Their turnover numbers are so similar it is a nonissue. Gotta go. We can bump this thread later if you like. Have a good one.

Pippen IMO.

Melo is a better volume scorer but Pippen is probably better at everything else (especially defense)

Not even close Melo.....love humor hate him he can score at will anytime he chooses. I saw Pippen as the ultimate sidekick with above average everything skills.

Lebron is a better scorer and can D up anyone like Pippen. Lebron > Pippen.

However, that would be fricking awesome to watch. Talk about a defensive battle.

Well... Pippen would be the obvious answer. But, IMO it is a little closer then you would think at first glance. I mean Melo is a much better scorer (and anyone not named Scotty Pippen tends to lose when that is the case). Pippen was still really good on offense in general and a much better defensive player.

The ultimate sidekick named to NBA's 50 Greatest Ever list?

Pippen is one of the best defenders to ever play basketball. It was not just "above average". If he had a team to himself that needed him to score, his stats would be outrageous. He suffers in hindsight opinions due to his stats suffering from playing on great teams.

1 on 1,

Pippen whoops Melo.

Melo would have a tough time scoring on Pippen, but Pippen could take Melo on the dribble just about any time he'd want. Pippen was very quick, and Melo moves side to side like he's stuck in quicksand made of molasses and sphincters.

His 45% FG percentage disagrees.

I agree on the ultimate sidekick role, but his defensive skills were elite and his other skills were above average. Despite having a higher FG% than Melo, Melo is clearly a better scorer and jump shooter.

Pippen is consistently better with his FG%. Team player. More steals, More assists, Defense isn't comparable, Championships not comparable. Nothing is comparable except if you give Melo 25 shots, he'll get you 30 points sometimes.
