Not even you? I assume if what you said is true, it was because his owner was a prick.

that was the same for ours. she was doing great, and then she had an issue where she was biting at a spot on her haunch and pulled the hair out. got a cone and some medicate pads and started keeping it clean and such. 2 days later she started having issues with vomiting, so we took her to the vet. got some meds and anti nausea. an hour after we got home, she would drink and then vomit.

took her back to the vet and turned out she was diabetic. left her at the very on fluids and to be checked out, and 3 days later we had to put her down due to her organs shutting down. she went from looking like she could come home the following Monday morning, to Monday morning them telling us her body was shutting down.

was one of the hardest days I have had to go through - still gets me, and it has been a few months since then. she went from OK to being put down in a little less than a week. prior to the chewing, we were doing walks, fetch and the like with no issues at all.

people can belittle others for talking about there pets on Social media and the like - and if it makes the feel better to belittle others, more power to them. I just know what my dog meant to me - was the 1st 1 i had since i was a kid, and having her for 9 years was a truly great 9 years, and it was nowhere near enought time.

Our bulldog is living with a cancer mass right now that is inoperable.

It’s been a year since the diagnosis.

Man this is a terrible time for me to read this.

Went to CO for a work trip last week. Picked up my pup from a Rover sitter I've used probably 6 times. Took him to car and he had a bladder problem (he's had it 3 times before over the last 18 months so not the sitter's fault I don't think).

Took him home, went out for an event, came back and went to let him out and look back and he is on the floor having a seizure peeing all over without any control. Had another 2 on Saturday so we went to Vet ER and got some seizure meds. Seemed to be working a bit then today got home and let him out and his bladder seems messed up again and he's licking at his area so i think it is a bad UTI.

Hope he has a UTI and that has caused everything else cause those seizures freaked me the F out

Regardless of whether or not you like Herbstreit, it's pretty heartless to dump on someone going through this.

Having gone through the exact same thing with our pittie mix I can tell you it's almost as painful as losing a human family member. So maybe show a little grace and sympathy for what the guy is going through with a long-term member of his family.

God forbid you have to watch the slow march to an inevitable end like others have had to. And if it does, I hope that others show you more sympathy than simply saying "It would be nice if your dog dies so we get a break from having to be around you".

Just my two pennies worth - take it for what you will.

Alternatively, you could go frick yourself sideways with a 2x4 and then not post anymore and we win.

From Kirk's twitter:
This is really hard to write but so many of you have loved and cared about Ben that I wanted to let you know. We found out today the cancer had spread throughout Bens organs and there was nothing left we could do-we had to let him go. I’ve had dogs my whole life but Ben was 1 on 1. He was smart-loving-gentle-patient-inquisitive-and welcoming to all. Always a big smile and a soft tail wag. He and I could communicate..he and I understood each other and had each others backs. He was with me more than anyone at home and traveling with me for work. Such an easy going companion. Hard day-but he will live within all of us forever. God please bless his majestic soul and thank you for putting him in my life for the last 10 years-a true blessing.
Love you Ben.

One of, if not the worst feeling in the world I've ever had was putting down my last dog, even if it is the right thing to do.

When they say man's best friend, they never lied. Doesn't matter how good or bad your day was, that dog is the happiest thing to see you when you get home no matter what. I have another dog that's turning 10 this weekend, and as much as you don't want to think about it, I just know it's gonna be even harder to let this one go.

One of our dogs recently had cancer and we were able to cure him, but he was not right for months. He has finally gotten back to normal, but he is 15 years old. I know our time is almost up and I am dreading it.
