On John Beilein to Cleveland: During my reporting on the college basketball federal investiagation, one integral source described the former Michigan man as: “The only high-major head coach I’m sure has never cheated.” For him to leave college hoops is pretty telling.

Tweets like the above are common on twitter today and on ESPN panels

Beilein did just fine vs cheaters at Michigan, so I think he left because he thrives on being a rebuilder.

Great coach and great man, Cleveland better treat him well!

Sounds like Michigan is about to go on sanctions.

That’s exactly what I took from that.

Michigan fans are going to eat this shite up. No fanbase loves the smell of their own “we cheat less than everyone else” farts more than those douchers.

beilein knew exactly what to say on his way out.

Nah, if you read more of his tweets he isn’t referencing sanctions

Beilein does not cheat.

I know, I’m just kidding with you. If it’s really true that that’s his reason for leaving, then good for him. You’ll have to excuse me for being a bit jaded after recent events in the cbb world.

Which is why I said im not buying it

Beilein since 2013 is tied for most tourney wins (18) with Calipari

Beilein was doing just fine against “cheaters”

It’s an absurd reason to leave a school after 12 years of success.

It’s ESPN and the sports world wanting drama and intrigue.

Why can’t they just say he left because he wanted the nba experience before retirement?

If the ncaa isn’t going to stop the clandestine recruiting tactics, I have no qualms with cashing in as a program.

You are putting yourself at a strategic disadvantage otherwise

It’s why LSU fell behind Bama in football. Miles refused to go rogue.

LSU failing to develop a quarterback is the bigger reason
