If Romo got in, you could then make the case for almost anyone that played for 10+ years.

Hey, he was good enough to keep his job for over a decade...Hall of Fame, methinks.

Also, Tony's from California, his dad was in the US Navy and his mom's maiden name is Jakubowski. That's about as mexican as louis ck

I really don't understand the argument for Romo being deserving of the HoF... What credentials does he have to warrant such a discussion?

Brady
Manning
Brees
Rodgers
Roethlisberger

all have way better cases than him from this era.

Even Eli, Rivers, Palmer, and Ryan can be argued as better.

What has Romo EVER done to distinguish himself? He has NEVER led the league in any important stat, except in 2014 when he led in completion % and passer rating AND DIDN'T EVEN MAKE THE ALL-PRO TEAM OR WIN MVP. He's only made 4 Pro Bowls. 2014 is far and away his best season and it's pretty unspectacular. Not to mention that his teams never won anything of note. The Cowboys teams during his tenure were the definition of mediocre. I think Romo was a fine QB that got more flack (and attention, for that matter) than he really deserved, because he played for the Cowboys. He was good, and better than most are willing to admit, but does he deserve the HoF? Hell no.

I had no idea he was Mexican. So was Jim Plunkett and he won two Superbowls. Gimme Jim Plunkett in his prime over Romo.

Jim Plunkett had a full-time job as a grade school kid.

His parents were fricking blind.

The man got into Stanford and led them to a Rose Bowl victory, won the Heisman and then QB'd the Raiders to two Super Bowl championships after everyone thought he was washed up...winning Super Bowl MVPs.

Tony Romo wishes he was half the man and QB Jim Plunkett is.

Debatable. I would also argue that the top 3 or 4 are the only ones relevant to a HoF argument. Brady, Brees, Manning, and Rodgers. Romo was arguing over space with Ben, Aging Warner, Aging Favre, Palmer, Eli, Ryan, Newton, Luck, etc...

Good not Great. He may make the ring of honor, but is not deserving of the HoF.

So do they let people with average careers into the HOF now?

no.

crumbled under the pressure of playoff ball.

butt fumble in the lexicon.

Do I remember his drive with little time left to go to come from behind to take the perfect season and Super Bowl from Brady? Nah. That was Manning the Younger.

Since he never won anything worth spit, no.

Otto Graham won the league championship as a rookie after playing pro ball with Cleveland in another league. Otto Graham beat the Green Bay Packers in the Hall of Fame game. Otto Graham's team was ALL ROOKIES. the drafted rookies.
so do not give me that Romo did a lot with not so good teams. Otto Graham beat the defending champion Packers with rookies he practiced with for 10 days.
Hmmm. He probably had a lot of guys from his championship Cleveland team.
Maybe not such a whopping story. just another win by a great QB.

That's a HOF QB on day one and his first season and many more. champ. a lot.

150% No. I know the MSB asks these questions all the time for many different sports, but this one super super easy. Tony Romo should never sniff the Hall of Fame.

This was the quote...

Was Romo ever a top 5 QB in a given year during his career?
2014 isn't really debatable. 1st in comp %, passer rating, QBR, yards/attempt and TD%. 4th in total TDs. 2nd in TD/INT ratio. 2nd most MVP votes for a QB.

He was borderline top 5 in 2011.

I mean, he was absolutely a top 5 quarterback in 2014.

But no, I don't think he belongs in the Hall of Fame. He was a very good quarterback, though.

Right. Tony was statistically the best QB in football in 2014.

He got MVP consideration.

Haha.. I didn't even ask to use the up/vote as a poll, since it's against the rules, and it's 0-28.
