Jim Brown is the GOAT NFL RB.
This is the correct answer. Like Barry, Jim walked away from football in his prime.

Besides, Earl Campbell played a decade before Dickerson
Campbell was a rookie in 1978 Dickerson in 1983. Campbell was still active Dickerson rookie year and ran for 1300 yards.

behind some poor Houston OLines,
Lol wut? Leon Gray made All Pro a couple of times in that era and the Oilers made back to back AFCCG how was the OL bad?

That's just a really bad comparison.
Why because it doesn’t fit your narrative that Phillips over used him? Campbell was definitely a more physical runner, did that lead to him breaking down and his health in later years? Maybe but he wasn’t used more than other great RB which was all I was comparing. If you prefer Emmitt Smith (he did play a decade after Campbell) had just as much use and played longer. He wasn’t big enough to bowl people over like Campbell but was a between the tackles runner and he played longer.

but had Barry run behind the Cowboy's OLines he might have over 30,000 yards. Lol And zero Super Bowl Championships.
Both of these statements are incredibly stupid. I don’t think Sanders works in the Dallas offense let alone puts up unprecedented stats but to think they wouldn’t have won a Super Bowl with Aikman Irvin and that defense well that’s also silly

Here are my top 3.
Jim brown
Gale sayers
Barry sanders
These three did things running the football that I have not seen since.

No one wants to admit it but OJ was probably the best back ever...he had world class Olympic sprinter speed (while Barry always got pulled down 5 yards from the goal line.) First man to go over 2000 yards with an average O-line in the snow!
I was going to mention him. You forgot the most important thing about his 2003 yards, it was in 14 games. And pre passing rule changes so defenses were geared to stop the run. Though I’m not sure why everyone thinks every OL outside of the 90s Cowboys was bad. Joe Delamieleurre is in the HOF and they had 2 other pro bowlers in 73 but I digress. If you look at his career OJ looked like a bust his first 3 years though those were some terrible teams. He had 5 good years including 2 monster years. Brown Payton Sanders Smith those guys were great and more consistent longer

I think it was in 1975, but OJ put
On a record setting performance against the lions.

75 was his other monster season 1800 yards in 14 games. I think that game was Thanksgiving against the Lions and was the single game record at the time

I don’t know if it’s been mentioned yet in this thread, but it’s also impressive that Barry did it as a smaller back. He was under 5’8 and just at 200 pounds based on combine numbers.
The GOAT NFL running back was a little guy compared to most running backs to play in the league.

Henry had the ypg to have b2b 2KY seasons, before his injury.

Good list, I would sub Payton for Sayers for overall greatness and longevity but get going with Sayers. He’s definitely a guy that was ahead of his time, would love to see him in todays game with his receiving and return ability

And OJ was strong as hell...nobody as big has ever run as fast...even Henry.
Herschel Walker, Bo Jackson, and Derrick Henry were all faster and bigger than OJ was.
What are you talking about?

OJ was 6’1 215-220 basically the same size as Jackson and Walker, maybe 5-10 lbs lighter.
As far as speed I’m not sure what each ran in the 40 but per this article. Those 3 all ran about the same time in the 100m in college at least. With Walker running the fastest 100 of the 3

He has the best highlights of any NFL player.
He also lost more yardage than any running back in NFL history.

Playing those all time great Steel Curtains twice a year contributed mightily.

The ultimate "imagine if he would have been on a good team" athlete.

OJ was on the 400 x100 USC team that set the world record...world record! A Collegiate team!...and an NCAA record that stood for 27 years.
That's what I'm talking aout. People ignore or forget that OJ was a world class sprinter. And he was powerful and big.
Watch OJs run to daylight, he's blowing by the #1 team in the nation in College.

OJ could change direction and never lose speed like nobody else...even Bo.

I don't know how you could put Bo ahead of Emmitt. That just seems disrespectful comparing their careers.

Actually, the best RB to watch and to play was Walter Payton. He just played for awful teams. But, he could do it all.
Yeah, people tend to overlook this due to the ‘85 Bears, but they were pretty much dogshit for his whole career up until then.
