You need to be shamed. Or better yet Drawn and Quartered
One is a fake and the other is raging a-hole, when drunk and a degenerate gambler when sober. But Winston is good people he is a Hill Country man.

im a rangers fan at heart. but i gave up getting overly invested years ago because they refuse to have pitching. its the same shite every year. "if only we had some pitching we would be unstoppable"
this year they are already back on track. they are gonna score 7 runs a game but letting up 10 to get there

My dad and I did not have a ton in common but he would take me on that trip every few years from San Angelo to Dallas.
My preteen arse would be beat at the end of those 2 days and I can’t imagine what it did to my 50 year old dad at the time (mainly those metal beleachers) but he never complained about any of it other than traffic in Dallas.
That being said, I was making that trip in the Nolan Ryan days.

I think the plastic seats in Arlington Stadium took off either 5 layers of skin or possibly contracted melanoma from those damn things. For the first 3 innings you could not sit down if you had shorts on.

Do you think that was Jason Grilli himself? I can't imagine there was too many #49 jerseys floating around 12 years ago.

i caught more games at port charlotte for spring training than anything. we would visit the grandparents for spring break and make a few games.

You know I would give up anything to be able to go back with my grandfather to do it all over again, just one more time.
That man did things for me he had no business doing for me and I took it for granted until I got out of college.
I think the best thing I ever did for him in return, other than graduation was getting him box seats to Royals Stadium to watch the Yankees.

What we are seeing in Arlington right now is Clay Jenkins worst nightmare. I’m loving this.

my relationship with my dad is a bit weird. he did stuff with me, came to every single game/trackmeet (hell, the man went to my debate meets) i ever competed in. ever present, but a cold, indifferent man. kicked me out at 19, but it was as amicable as could be. sister lived at home till she was 27 and he paid for her school, but not mine. he just figured i was independent and could make it, but she couldn't. he was right, but it was a bit of a self-fulfilling prophesy. didn't exactly foster a good relationship for most of my 20s and 30s. he did not ever say "love you" till i was about 40.
but that being said, i'll never forget Ranger games and trying to see Nolan, Pudge, etc. The WS loss to the Cardinals just about brought us both to tears.

@mccaig, should we be hammering the Rangers bet?
it feels like today with a big crowd will be a lot of energy to overcome for the road team
